I don't think it has ever been confirmed that this ticket thing is actually happening. Perhaps some of the interviews will come to pass, but none of that list is set in stone. This wish list material is being recycled as fact when in fact it may not be.

I don't like the looks of this at all. As wonderful as it is, the ticket idea is part of a "wish-list". If/When, the ticket thing doesn't pan out how will the .org look? While I've opened the door with that comment, seriously, it won't reflect well (IMHO).

Is Prince the real-life Willy Wonka? He holes up in his mysterious Paisley Park complex, where he mixes up magical and strange confections of funk/rock/R&B. He even dresses like Gene Wilder's purple-jacketed candymaker from the 1971 movie. So it's a no-brainer that he'd try a Wonka-esque promotion for his forthcoming album 3121, due March 21.

According to fansite prince.org, he's including seven ''purple tickets'' inside random copies of the CD that entitle the bearer to attend a private concert at Prince's home. Yes, Eminem and other artists have offered similar giveaways, but not even Marshall Mathers is as famously private as Prince. Plus, it looks like Prince is preparing to open up to TV interviewers, including Oprah, Larry King, 60 Minutes (presumably, to young, earring-wearing hipster Ed Bradley), and Ellen DeGeneres.

Not sure if an open, friendly Prince will be as intriguing as the Wonka-esque eccentric we've marveled at over the years, but given the fiery preview of his new tracks he offered on Saturday Night Live a week ago, I don't think we need to fear that Prince is losing his musical edge.

Remember my suggestion a month or so ago. PRANCE needs to get on the org, go to GD and pick out our names. He should org note us and have us print the org note. That would be our entrance ticket to his home where we will suggesst songs for him to play on guitar and/or piano.

I of course will be kicked out kicking and screaming because I request for Prance to play Sexual Intercourse and Little Girl Wendy's Parade.

One can only hope....

Sadly, no. This is a testament to how boring my post-grad school life/career has become. And to how much I would not be able to party with Prince. I'm so unfunky, Prince might be asking to get DVS to take my place if I won...

Here: http://www.wordreference....ometrician

Then again, what if "3121" is actually the coefficient of a variable in a some multivariate regression Prince is testing, and he needs me on hand to help him specify his model!

(I think this post contained at least 3-4 words never before, and never again, used on the .Org)

I LOVE the Org.

Been here since '98 under one name or another.

Part of my life and routine. Sad some might say, but there it is.

Love this place, very fond of it.

LATEST: The 'private concert' mentioned as part of the purple ticket prize actually won't involve Prince at all. Unnamed member of Prince's innard circle have revealed that Prince will actually be out of the state during the 'private concert' at his home and will instead leave a copy of Barry Manilow's 1981 concert at the Las Vegas Hippobowl for the lucky winners.

You heard it here first!

He did Larry King, but he was with Larry Graham which was really distracting. I'd rather see Prince by himself, though I think the first part was just Prince. It was during the Rave era and I'm not a fan of that period.

But that wasn't no big thing cuz Larry was at the tip end of the interview, for the most part Prince did the interview himself. I, myself still loved Prince and was a fan, but I the Rave period wasn't my favorite period either.

He has done interviews in the past w/all of those mentioned except Ed Bradley..he has not been as reclusive as he was in the 80's or early 90's in fact he has been doing interviews since Emancipation. I prefer him to be reclusive as it adds more of a mystique about him.

So far Uni's team haven't had to be that aggresive...I can count the times I heard "Musicology" on the radio (and not in the AC R&B format, which is not really that important in the big scheme of things; BS is generating airplay on the bigger radio markets and categories)...So far I've heard BS six times since this past Sunday...I've heard it on "Hip Hop" radio stations like New York's Hot 97 and Power...

And i've already seen BS gain more video airplay than "Musicology" during it's initial run...

The bottom line: No one knows if BS will be a huge hit for Prince; but it seems like it may do more for actually promoting an album in ways Musicology never could...

Even official announcements can end up not coming true. If those people over at PopBitch were checking out the org close enough to see the announcement, they also probabbly saw the later comments that it was just a wish list. They probabbly decided to leave that last part off.

Only thing with his interviews, is they usually sound heavily scripted and predetermined. It's not often that we get to see someone really shoot the shit with him and put him on the spot.

Wait a minute...U guy sthink Musicology was more radio-friedly? On what grounds do U based this on? Musicology received more spins only on the Urban AC format, but BS has a more commercial appeal and would appeal to younger listeners (with a remix and rapper) so overall I think BS is a stronger single. I don't remember Musicoly being targeted for spins on the rythmic/crossover format. I'm telling U guys, this a better song, it has more pop to it. Musicology was cool, nice JB influence, but this song has more edge to it.
