I thought Paul Weller was up for the special acheivement award this year...he said he would rather eat his own shit than perform a duet with James Blunt! It doesn't mean that Prince wont be performing though I guess.....there might even be a club gig if he's over here, which would be good!

Yes this is The Brit Awards guys... the lifetime achievement stuff is only given to British artists, there are only a few "International Awards". Paul Weller is this years recipient.

Doesnt mean that Prince won't appear though. They're the UK record industry event of the year so there will be loads of coverage, whole show shown on national TV etc.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an appearance but dont count on it!

I don't think he'll be performing Corvette. Once he retires a hit, he keeps it retired. Is what he did with 1999.

He claimed he wasn't going to perform any of the old Prince hits ever again when he changed his name to 0(+> in '93. That lasted about 6 months. But you're right, no chance of LRC.

NME

he is performing. i don't know what. i'm sure there will be confirmation by monday evening as most of the dress rehearsals are sunday and monday. the media set up from monday so there's bound to be leaked stries of "1000 scented candles, purple light bulbs, etc, etc" - the usual tabloid rubbish. he is likely to do an oldie and a new one as a medley, it the usual format for the international artsit that appear. i'm going. out of the new ones i hope it's Fury or Black Sweat - that Tamar one is a turd and won't impress anyone in the Uk. that sound has a heavy US radio sound to it. it doesn't work commercially here.

It is in the "News of the World" today that he will be performing with the NPG (the piece says he has reformed the New Power Generation for the show - immediately had me thinking "oh God, not Tony M...") and will do three songs although he hasn't decided which ones yet.

Pepper7, the Brits thing is looking like a strong possibility now. If he does decide to check out the likes of Peckham/Elephant I'll be sure to get in touch. Bit worried I won't be able to put up his full entourage.

Ahh south Londoners!
He should come and check me and my band out on Tuesdays over at the Fridge in Brixton, see what REAL UK music is all about - Hope he doesn't think that the SOURBABES represent the UK!

Brixton IS South London. (Last time I looked)

We should ALL hook up and take Princey on a rip-roaring night out.

We'll show him how to party like it's 1999. wink

The Independent UK also discusses this:

http://enjoyment.independ...344744.ece

It is hotly rumoured that his Paisleyness, Prince, will be doing his funky thang, but this subject is off limits for my brief interview with Terry who bluntly states that "we never know until the day, frankly".

and interestingly the reporter says that the theme is Moroccan this year - surely a sign its true??

"Taking a peep at the main stage, I see the theme for this year is Moroccan".

U know, he can't really do a "surprise per4mance" if we start posting everything b4hand. When u r an official website, u have 2 listen 2 what in4mation the artist wants 2 be released and when. Feel free 2 post what u've heard an articles from here and there. But if ur looking 4 Prince 2 say "Yes, eye am doing a surprise per4mance" - it's not very likely

Looking forward to wednesday... Just wish we knew where the aftershow will be..

So hello everyone!!! It has been a little busy so I have not been able to keep you posted on the latest, my apologies.
So we had a great time with Prince and Tamar on Saturday Night Live last weekend. NY wasn't too cold!

Today we are leaving for the UK to play the Grammy Brits! Wendy and Lisa and my girl Sheila E are going to rock it with us!
More to come when we return!!
