As with MOST of the ladies Prince "Nudges" into the spot lite..This one also seems 2 lack noticable talent and is still very shy...But he can C something most of us don't C ... At least, not yet....Shiela E. was about the only one I can think of who's "Glamorous Life" did well.on the charts...Also,.He never released :Dream Factory" with Wendy and Lisa...It was probably great 2 !!! I've heard there was some fanastic tunes with those 3 singing together.... Let's just wait... He's always been full of surprises.

Because she is beautiful and she can sing. She is not groundbreaking and I am not denying that but she is the best protege that Prince have since Jill Jones. I think with the proper promotion, she is going to do well particularly in the urban or r&B audience.

I fucking love her performance as a backup singer too and she was getting down with the twins.

I do like Beautiful, Love, and Blessed and I am still trying to remind myself it is hers, not a Prince song. It is uplifting and also very positive. Hell her song blows out the crap that it is out there today.

Unlike half of the people on the org, I am going to buy her new album which comes out on May 7th? Or May 2nd? I am spreading the word about her to my peeps on myspace and they are digging her.

I just hope Prince is going to treat this sista right and not end up screwing her like he did with Jill. But it seems like for now he is very exciting about her and also giving her time to shine.

I don't know either how her and Prince connected yet but we are going to surely find out.

After all, he's the one who's been talking about Tina Turner and The Ikettes. I doubt Tamar has a clue who the Ikettes were and those dance moves were almost a carbon copy of Tina's old moves. Prince has never before done so much to push a protege: Concerts, media and what...an appearance on SNL before her album has dropped? The intent of anybody working w/ this new artist Tamar is to get money and satisfaction from the publics appreciating her talent. Period. Thats why you saw her Saturday night. Suspicion, accusation and rumor about whoevadafuk shes boning speaks to the issues of the suspicious mofos talking about it. Why is this dark skinned African featured Black woman immediately viewed as Prince's side pussy and yall didnt say jack about women he had doing everything from simulating head to dancing in they drawers to beats he made up in 5 minutes? Almost all of his other proteges learned to perform after he put em in the game. Here we got a bonafide artist and all yall can come w/ is whats the big deal about her? After seeing her gigs I was pleasantly surprised, I expected the worst, as usual with Prince produced puppets, but she's actually pretty good even though her music sounds like Nona Gaye's demos from back in the 1990's...

Since everyone else is speculating I might as well throw my two cents in. I honestly think this may have more to do with Prince rehabilitating his image as a producer of other artists than it has to do with anything sexual. First of all, he bucked the trend by choosing someone who actually can sing and perform (at least in some people’s opinion). Second, she has to sell, so that’s probably why we’re seeing this seemingly unprecedented push. It’s long been a saying in the industry that if you sign on as a Prince protege your career is going to disappear into a black hole. Prince may be trying to change all that. If you don’t want to believe Prince is doing this for altruistic reasons, it may be more about his ego than his libido. Seeing all the neo-soul artists inspired, at least in part, by his legacy may have inspired Prince to see what he could come up with for that format. The people who claim to “know” Prince is sleeping with Tamar may well be right, but they also might be wrong too, and I wouldn’t call anyone who doesn’t subscribe to that idea a fool either. It may also be within the realm of possibility that Prince has learned (at least somewhat) from his past mistakes and will do things differently this time. Maybe for the sake of his ego if nothing else.

Prince has of course a long history of coaching single females to stardom. In the past it was almost inevitably because he was also involved with them and I guess it was just much easier to see more of them if he dragged them into his world of music.

However, almost all of them never hit the big time, and you would have thought Prince would have learned from his mistakes by now. Assuming his marriage is still okay and he's not in a relationship with Tamar, that's one thing. But the other Prince always seems to miss - his protege needs that one big irresistable hit that will propel them to the big time. He instead tends to give them pretty but bland songs that you just know will never shake the charts - Tamar will need her own 'Crazy In Love' to make it, and of course Prince always keeps back the best stuff for himself, so that's never likely to happen.

I saw them last Thurs. in NYC and girlfriend worked her butt off. She has a strong voice and had the dance moves to back it up. I'm hoping she's successful because I'm tired of the same old talentless pop stars. But those twins have got to go. They're distracting and from what I could gather can't sing very well (but they can dance). They also seem eager for the spotlight. They are definitely twins (I got to see them up close) - they have a striking resemblance to Bratz dolls.

I really don't care if he's sleeping with her or not. But I do care about the fact that she does not seem to be very talented at all. I have never seen her perform live so I cannot use that as a gauge of her talent. Her music doesn't seem to make the listener feel anything and that's a big key as to whether an artist is successful. Prince affiliated or not. .
