Tang17, could you confirm (if you're still around)? I would assume disc one has 17 tracks, and disc two has the remaining 11 extended tracks.

is 'nothing compares 2 u' the live version that was on 'the hits/the b-sides'?

so they're using a track from a best-of for another best-of?

ok, it makes its own kind of sense...just like it makes its own kind of gravy.

also, might this be some outdated information from before prince stuck his finger in the pie a week or so ago?

What a bizarre compilation.

How much more money would WB make if they released every single sequentially on CD? They could be pressed on imitation vinyl discs with faithful packaging, including all the B-Sides and remixes which weren't previously available together.

This is cool, but I wish for these types of cds they'd add some post-92 stuff
sometimes like:

Space (Universal Love Mix)
Letitgo (Remix)
Eye Hate You
The Most Beautiful Girl..
etc..

I know these aren't the major hits, but they were cool singles

No, I think the tracklist above is the 'newer' version, since Tang17 mentioned WB removing Sexy Mutha, Purple Medley and Erotic City from the tracklist to appease Prince.

Once again WB makes a non-sense compilation. What would have been very useful & appreciated by old & mostly new fans would have been a comprehensive package of ALL of Prince's WB extended versions/remixes & b-sides (including Good Love & 4 The Tears In Your Eyes). This would have included most of the hits (at least enough 2 guarantee a fair sale), could have been splat in 4 or 5 double CD's 2 avoid selling a huge 8 or 10 CD pack & would have made an valuable historical testimony of Prince's rare tracks from this era.

Instead, we get a weird, hybrid compilation released in the sole purpose 2 attract fans who didn't buy the Very Best Of in the name of already owning all the songs on it. Now this "Ultimate" looks like a great opportunity 4 fans 2 own rare stuff!

So let's say it once & 4 all (please moderate if necessary, moderators):
EACH AND EVERY B-SIDE OR EXTENDED VERSION IS AVAILABLE WITH PERFECT SOUND QUALITY, DIRECTLY RIPPED FROM VINYL, ON EVERY P2P NETWORK !!!

Prince doesn't agree with this shitty compilation, don't let WB make more $$ on Prince's account!!!
