I'd LOVE to know how many sales SST is getting to still be in the top40, wonder if its recharted or something because of TAC, which would be weirder still considering how poorly TAC is doing.

ah well, nice to see it charting in some places though i suppose the airplay charts and the hot100 are the most important, no info on download charts though? do they even have one in america or does everyone just look to iTunes? in the UK they have a download chart so its not just reliant on iTunes.

To chart where he did he probably moved a few hundred copies of the single. Nobody sells singles anymore so just a few sales will chart you. It's pretty sad and says nothing of his talent. It only says that he has people who will buy anything he releases. With the way they do it these days he could release a blank cd as a single and it would chart somewhere because some of us would buy it.

Digital downloads are a heavy factor in helping singles place now, as well. A song can be a hit for about four weeks and can fall off the charts as quickly as it grew popular.

With the new rules he really should have been able to take advantage of them and chart high with his hardcore fan base buying copies unfortunately even the hardcore people don't like the song and he didn't throw anything else on the cd so its not moving at all.

Nobody releases singles anymore so if you were to sell a lot you would chart pretty highly.

Some of these folks would still be dissing Prince even if he had a song that zoomed up the charts and landed at #1, claiming he sold out just to get a hit. I guess some people are just happier being negative all the time, but I'm glad I'm not one of them. It gets in the way of enjoying life.
