I'm proud to say I touch his leg at a concert in Philadelphia at the Merriam Theatre in 1999. He was wearing velvety red trousers. For a moment, I felt like a bitch... but this is the guy who's written so many songs that I love and probably influenced me in so many ways... I figured... "The girls are touching him... I'm gonna touch him too! Sh&t!) 
My arms were on the concert stage all night long... from my elbows to my finger tips. He was never more than 15 feet away all night, and to be able to see everything from his dusty pumps to the hair in his nose... it was the greatest concert experience I'll ever have! My fiance at the time, got called to go onstage. After seeing her and a dozen others dance around for about 2 minutes, I decided to go up too... selected or not... but some over-eager, over-anxious, party-pooper LOSER security guard grabbed me by my belt strap and pulled me back down. I looked back, and he was like... "No". (Bro, I ain't mad at you no more... in fact, you probably saved a riot. No telling how many others might have followed me in my footsteps.)
The whole night was surreal... BUT... the little mo-fo came out an hour late. The show was supposed to start at 8, and he came out at 9. Hmmm... I wonder what he was doing in the back? The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else! | |

There was an afterparty that night at Brave New World. Prince was there, but was up in the VIP section all night. He came in the back door, and walked past me to go up the stairs. SHORT muthafucka! lol... I was hoping he would play, but he didn't. I paid $20 bucks (times 2) to go to the after party hoping for an after show... but it didn't happen. 
I fool I was to think the night could have gotten even better than it already had been. I should have taken my additional $40 and bought a t-shirt! The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else! | |

He played 'peek-a-boo' with me once. Not that kind of 'peek-a-boo' ya pervs! 
He came to Detroit at The Music Hall to premiere Mayte's Ballet back in '98, at least I think it was '98. Anyhoo, he was standing in the back when I came back from getting a drink during intermission. Security wouldn't let me go say hi, the punks! So when I got to my seat, I told my friends he was behind us and every time they turned around he'd duck behind Mayte, but when I turned around he'd peek around her and smile at me. Of course when I'd tell my friends to look, he'd hide again. My friends ended up taking my drink AND my car keys! I was redeemed though because when we were leaving, they saw him being escorted into the Green Room, so they had to take me out for a round of Martinis.
Oh, yeah there's also my front row aisle seat at the Musicology show in Aurburn Hills, thanks Mayor Kwamee! I was in the 3rd row and he had the seat in front of me in the second row. When the show started he stood up and I couldn't see a damn thing, I'm only 5'5" and I had on flats. The seat in front of him was empty so I snuck up there. When security came to rush me, he told them to let me stay and they did. Whoever bought the seat never showed up. So much thanks to them too. | |
