I think the only reason musiclogy seemed to do so well was because the concert give aways counted as chart units. Prince has always let it be known that he only wants distribution deals therefore who ever gives him the better deal will win.

Maybe he burned his bridges at sony (it wouldn't be the first time)?

In all honesty though i don't think anybody knows the answer to this

Sony has got so much bad press lately over their copy protection that made so many people's computers vulnerable, maybe he wanted to steer clear of them for now.

Maybe the answer is "Stevie Wonder". He got more than royal treatment from Motown and he and Prince socialized quite a bit some months ago.

They are on a roll with crap music, crashing consumers computers and payola.
It is does not matter if he has the same kind of deal he had with Sony because it is win/win for P.

I was always under the impression that he was going to move around the labels anyway. I reckon its all part of some masterplan to show how shallow and worthless recording contracts are these days.
So look into the mirror, do u recognise some1? Is it who u always hoped u would become, when u were young?

huh? someone posted a really good explenation why prince will never be able to stay with one label a while back..it had to do with studio expectations and prince's refusal to go into a longterm contract....

it has nothing to do with prince trying to show how shallow or worthless contracts are...expecially when he himself has engaged in shallow and worthless contracts..ie, Jill Jones & Margie Cox...
Space for sale...
