I just want to say that this ONE thread thing sucks! I really liked having the seperate threads. It was more easy for me to navigate...now u gotta wade thru all the bullshit instead of being able to know what bullshit u were gonna particularily run into. I can't wait til everything is all out and in the open so things can go back to normal.

with their whole teaser campaign, you gotta look at it less as "how are they delivering the goods to us?" and more in the perspective of them just putting together a promotional campaign. it's a project. it's something that they mapped out, discussed, drafted and designed. for better or for worse, i don't think they put tons of thought into prince's past glories in this area, nor do i think they give a lot of consideration to gratifying the fans in any ways other than the ways prince/npg wants.

think of how many times we've heard of possible upcoming releases that never matterialize.
Think about how many Prince albums we heard most of the album before its official release.
Either he got really good at it, or this is a projects he's REALLY proud about.

Wait...this means the first single is another goshdarned ballad. Why does he open up albums 90% of the time with slow or mid-tempo numbers? Damn it, Prince, give us something funky.

Yeah, you can pretty much tell from the title that it is going to be some smaltzy ballad, even if it is with a Latin sound to it. I hate when Prince tries to crack the commercial market with ballads. There's just too much competition in the r n'b field these days. Prince is still far better known for eclectic funk/pop hybrids than ballads, and he should stick to these as primary single releases, I reckon.

Hey I expect the best and some of my favorite P songs are ballads. I am making a huge assumption with no possible knowledge of what genre the song is. It is a qualified assumption based on the man's track record but an assumption nontheless. It just seems like there are always natural singles on an album that don't get released in favor of mid-tempo or in some cases mediocre ballads. I HOPE this is not the case but as a fan for 20 years I always give Prince the benefit of the doubt. IF it is a ballad it could be the most awesome ballad he has ever done. This could be the natural single, something that just flies off the album and will be instantly loved. I look forward to hearing it and then evaluating it properly.
