That Frank Moore guy is the closest as far as looks here. This is kinda sick though. If it ain't October 31st or you're not working in Vegas you shouldn't be dressed as Prince. Period.

Some people need suplement their identities with the identities of celberties or esteamed figures such as females. It's all in an effort to subdue the reality of worthlessness we all must face at one time in our lives. Living for the light, and the beauty within will shine for you, but by living in darkenss you have to strain to see a light somewhere.

I was speaking on those people who feel a need to try to be a look alike. They walk around asking "don't you think I look like...", and they don't but if you tell them the truth they don't want to hear it. "so and so said I do and this or that one agreed", they were lying. Getting to know yourself is what I think life should be about. I belive some have to replace their own identity with anothers to feel like they have worth. Those of us with a spiritual light inside don't go dressing like "jesus" or an apposol. It is the void of inner darkness that makes some feel the need to idolize and enlist a popularity light figure to serve as a candle for the darkness within their own soul.

This isn't to say dressing up for goofing around can't be fun. As long as it doesn't become an obsession I would say it's healthy.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

I feel quite sorry for some of them i mean who encourages the first and second ones.

The first one , what a shame poor little sod
The Second looks demonic
The third not bad around the eyes
The fourth looks good,

I dont know why its impossible for anyone to pull it off , just is.

I can see why Prince hates people who "impersonate" him.
All of these guys look like there PARODYING Prince rather then sincerely trying 2 look and act like him!

He doesn't make a good prince even for a joke. Unless we are talking an imagened "Prince as the last days of Elvis". He isn't fat. But he would have to lose about 60 pounds to get the prince wafe look

There are plenty of things that form an image of Prince in one's mind. For some of us it may be 3 or 4 things. For others, it may be 6 or 8 or 10, or even more things. But whatever number of traits you look for in Prince, they all MUST be in place to pull of the Prince look.
Images and thoughts about Prince's essence brings me back to my childhood. Like Margarett Cho said, "The smell that brings me back to my childhood is balls in pantyhose." But I digress, Prince is unique and can be imatated, but never duplicated.

I've gathered a group of Prince impersonators to show you why I think it is impossible to pull Prince off.

Next:

Now this guy is the closest thing I can see to being Prince Prince. Yes, I doubt any of the ladies in here would want to fuck him, and he looks like of like a leftover cast member of cop rock. But his features are delicate, his skin tone is about right. All he needs to do is to get his hair done at a salon and not do it himself. Also, check out how he sucks in his cheeks like he's sucking on lemons! It's perfect!

Anyways, what do you consider to be the essence of Prince? What features do you think a person MUST have to resemble Prince?

PS. Do any of these extremely drag queen looking men prove lead you to suspect that on some level, whether subconciously or overtly and exceedingly obvious, that Prince is gay?

.
[Edited 12/2/05 20:02pm]

Wow this guy is the closest thing. Really he has the look down really good. What features must they have to be good Prince imersonators? Hmmm really I think it is more important for them to get the mannerisms down. That bugged eyed stare he does, the way he sings, the nosies he makes and ofcourse most importantly the way he moves that body! razz

I know him and he is always calling Mayte a Bitch and saying she digs Tommy for the Sex. He's Shorter than Prince. Very Heavy Columbian Accent. He reminds me of a dancer for Madonna actually on her Girly Tour. He's kinda Hostile and I think he also could be Violent against Prince cause he seems Too Like he THINKS He's Prince.... A good artist though.Plus into that Soapstone shit and Magic. Swears Prince is into MAGIC....

Most of these guys really suck, but this one's not bad. Probably the closest someone is going to get to looking like the Purple One.

I don't know why it seems impossible to impersonate Prince properly. Most other celebs ahve at least a few, ahem, "tribute artists" who pull it off right. Maybe it's because Prince himself is so unique looking. Not just his personal style, but bone structure, size, eyes, everything.

True, I just want the fans and Prince to know. I met him at this org and went to the shows with him. He was a Bit Very Off so I stopped hanging with him. Hope I never see him again at Club events or concerts.

Seeing how he only weighs a buck-o-five, I can't imagine him doing too much, without a gun...

He'd probably get his ass smacked around like a bitch, ha ha..

I can vouch for the Vegas impersonator as I saw him a couple of months ago, the show was 'Purple Reign'.

It was a FREE show, and it was funky! He is pretty convincing from a distance - he does the splits, the turns and has a pretty good scream.. I loved it.

They had a segue with The Time as well, doing 'Jungle Love' and 'The Bird' which got everyone going.

Yeah, it's not like seeing Prince live..but musically and visually I was impressed, and I've seen Prince six or seven times.

If anyone's in Las Vegas when he's playing, I recommend the show wholeheartedly.

I used to work a part-time gig doing different celeb impressions, and Prince was one of my "characters". Of course, I will NEVER publish any photos of myself in costume on this site, since everyone is bashing these guys with a venom that just seems unmerited. Sure, a couple look horrible, but I think one or two actually look pretty good. Their acts may actually be decent, you never know. Of course, I've seen a lot of "oh no! It is wrong since there is no way they can be as good as the real deal". Well, of COURSE they won't be as good as Prince, and I would imagine that every one of them would agree. They are just trying to entertain people. How is that the crime that some are making it out to be?

Why do people impersonate celebs? Well, for me, it was just a fun way to make a buck while paying homage to people I dig. I also enjoyed the fact that people would be so shocked when they saw what I really look like out of costume. Still, I guess people around here think it is heretical or something. News flash folks: Prince isn't a god, so it really isn't a sin for people to do a tribute show to him.

I seriously doubt any of these guys are trying to live their lives as Prince, or have any delusions that they are going to make it big as a Prince impersonator. More than likely, they are just trying to have a good time. Speaking for myself I will say that there isn't any sort of identity confusion, or issues with who I am. This isn't some sort of pathology, and I don't hang out in Prince drag bars. I'm not trying to claim that I'm anywhere near as good as Prince in my performance (or any of the other celebs I do). It's all in fun.
