This is a contest that I made where people can tell or post pics about Prince-related items that they own that could consider them a die-hard Prince fan. Sadly, the biggest thing I own is the PR 20th Anniv. DVD because I'm too young to get a job, but oh well...

i don't really have any amazing rare stuff to brag about like a lot of people on here do, believe it or not. the most 'hardcore' stuff i have lives in a little storage box tucked away very safely, and it's just a bunch of recordings i've stumbled across over years of trading and whatnot. that's what i value most, other than the official albums.

I Cherish What Prince gave to me Himself...Such as his Autograph and Purple Rain Tambourine. What He Gave me has SENTIMENTAL VALUE. That is SPECIAL and CLOSE to MY HEART...

But I own nothing rare, just a well worn I wanna be your lover single, a warped 12 inch version of Lets Go Crazy, Take me with u, Erotic city (Make love not war, erotic city come alive), with Prince on a bed with rose petals everywhere (c. February 1985).

I sure am, but growing up I thought that 2 express dislike 4 one of his songs or admit I didn't like a particular cd meant I wasn't such a big fan at all. It wasn't until I discovered "UPTOWN" magazine in early 1997 (which my mother actually discovered 4 me by accident) that I realized that U could admit that Prince hit a bad note or all out just missed the mark with a particular song or album, and still recognize his genius. It was almost like fate, cuz when I discovered UPTOWN, I discoverd bootlegs a few months later. That was during the long SUCKY years from Emancipation(which would've made a better single disc) through the Rave cd. The bootlegs served 2 keep my interest in him while he tried desperately 2 find his way back 2 the talent and music that got me in2 him when I was just 3 years old. Had it not been 4 the bootlegs, live and outtakes, I would have been a hardcore fan of his past glories. I'm 24 now and I've just taken down all of my posters this year after I moved out of my mother's house, but my walls were coverd with him! I still have my giant "treasure" chest with every issue of UPTOWN, magazines, books, newspaper clippings, all of my tour books (I'm missing 2 ),photos my father took at the June 7th 1986 Cobo Hall show here in Detroit, and tons of other stuff. I still trade and collect the unofficial stuff and I have 2 200+ capacity cd booklets full of Prince cds and dvd (official and otherwise ) I'm now the father of a beautiful 5 month old girl (check my avatar!) so my energies are going 2 have 2 be channeled in2 fatherhood more so than Prince collecting, but it's a legacy I intend 2 pass on2 her one day. She watches me play my guitar 2 her and it soothes, and she laughs at the funky faces I make when I'm laying out some "Controversy" style funk. When the next tour rolls around, I want 2 take her with me 4 her 1st real Prince experience. I myself have seen him 11 times, 7 times on the MUSICOLOGY tour. A simple "yes" would have answered the question, huh?
