Lovesexy Concert This is a question about the Lovesexy concert that is on tape. I was just wondering where it was filmed and/or the date it was filmed?

I thought the official recording was made in Holland. Wasnt the Germany recording a TV special that ended up being bootlegged? |

The concert was showed live in dutch tv.
I still remember that night. The broadcasting was sheduled in german tv (Sat1), too. But a day before or so it was cancelled. A friend o'mine was able to receive dutch tv and we watched the show on that September night and were infected by the P-virus. We taped it on VHS & Audio and watched/listened to it dozen of times. Nobody in school (we were 15) understood why we loved that "gay" so much. Months later it was released as official VHS tape. I still love the concert. "Europe ..... clap your hands!" I wish I had it on DVD.... | |

It was filmed in Germany by a Dutch TV station ( Dortmunder Westfalenhalle in Dortmund/Germany) but it was broadcast in the Netherlands. There were a lot of Dutch fans in the audience who kept shouting " Holland, Holland!" so a lot of newer fans assume that it was filmed in the Netherlands.
As far as I know it was supposed to be broadcast in several European countries, hence the "Europe!" shout outs by Prince. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?" | |
