No. When you look at TGE, and the scores of great tracks he's assembled over the years, I don't think you can say that. Look, for example, at his work post-Lovesexy:

Batman: The Future, Electric Chair, Scandalous

Graffiti Bridge: The Question of U, Still Would Stand All Time, Joy In Repetition(official release)

D&P: Willing and Able, Cream, Gett Off, Money Don't Matter Tonight, Insatiable

prince: 7, And God Created Woman, Sexy MF

The Hits: Pink Cashmere

Come: Dark

TGE: Shhh, endorphinmachine, eye Hate U, etc.

Chaos and Disorder: I Like It There, Dinner With Delores

Emancipation: In This Bed eye Scream, Soul Sanctuary, etc.

The Truth: Fascination, One of Your Tears, etc.

NPS: Come On, The One

Rave: Man O' War

TRC: Muse 2 The Pharaoh

ONA: ONA

Musicology: If :I: Was the Man in Ur Life, Reflection, What Do U Want Me 2 Do?

I'm not saying that all of these tracks belong in the pantheon, but still, Prince has been able to churn out a jewel or two in the last decade and a half and he should get credit for that.

I agree, he has released many great tracks over the last few years, but it seems like you have to get through a lot of not so great stuff to get to it. From his first album through to lovesexy I can listen to them all without skipping a track. I can say the same about his stuff later than lovesexy, up until Musicology I'd say there was more to skip past than listen to. But I'm fully aware that this is just my personal opinion so I think the fairest thing to say is his later stuff isn't bad music, it just didn't appeal as much to me.

Hi, this was my post & i agree with alot of what you have wrote ..... although saying that i always hated Dance On (LoveSexy) ..... but other than that i would agree that alot of the 70/80's shit was top notch & although the last 15 years have been top notch as well in places ..... there has also been a little bit more ..... Rubbish , i will stress that i love the Gold Exp, Symbol, Crystal Ball ,alot of Emancipation ,also theres some killer tracks on D&P ,Come & Musicology ..... i suspect one reason for the above is the fact that P has released a hell of alot of material .

One things for sure though , Prince's not such good material is still better than some other artists good stuff !!!

The Classic 'Rainbow Children' No other on the face could have pulled this from the ether.

Of course the jewel that is 'Sign'O'The Times' Michael who? (Nailed 2 the floor!).

'Emancipation' feel the freedom.

The aural beauty of 'ATWIAD', his nod 2 the Beatles.

Say YES to 'Lovesexy' on the verge of a whole new sound.
