Plongée au coeur de la vieille ville, cette ancienne demeure royale servait autrefois aux grandes réceptions et aux actes officiels du Roi. Construit au XVIe Siècle par le roi Ahmed el Mansour, ce Palais fut détruit après son règne par la dynastie alaouite qui décida de tirer un trait sur le passé.

Aujourd'hui, il n'en subsiste plus que les ruines et les impressionnants murs et bassins centraux. Ce lieu, quand vous y entrerez, ne pourra que vous inspirez un moment de quiétude sous le doux soleil de Marrakech.

Petite particularité de ce lieu : Il est peuplé de cigognes qui y ont établi leurs nids. Véritable emblème de la ville, les autorités font leur maximum pour préserver la présence de celles-ci.

Actuellement, ce lieu sert aussi à différentes manifestations culturelles telles que le Festival International du Film de Marrakech et le Festival National du Folklore.


Translation: Plunged in the middle of the old city, this ancient royal residence was of use for big receptions and for official acts of the King in the past. Having constructed Mansour in XVIth century by the king Ahmed el, this Palace was destroyed after its reign by alaouite dynasty which decided to draw a trait at the past.

Today, there do not remain there more than ruins and impressive walls and central basins. This place, when you will enter it, will be able only you inspire an instant of calmness under the soft sun of Marrakech.

Small feature of this place: It is populated with storks which established their nests there. True emblem of the city, authorities make their maximum to preserve the presence of these.

Nowadays, this place also serves in different cultural events such as the International Festival of the Film of Marrakech and the National Festival of Folklore.

PRINCE WAS ACTUALLY IN PARIS JUST BEFORE FLYING TO MARRAKECH

A famous french journalist and night clubber (eric Dahan) reported last week that Prince was recently spotted in Paris at the Bristol Hotel. He was accompanied by a mexican musician, and Keanu Reeves was in the same hotel on the same day too. This sparked rumours that Prince may be writing music for Keanu Reeves' next movie, which apparently features this mexican guy. Needless to say, this is a highly unreliable rumour at this stage! (but Prince was definitely in Paris about two weeks ago, several persons saw him)

Oh and wasn't there a rumour a while ago about Prince collaborating with some Latin (Mexican, Indian or something) guy? It was posted on the org. And then there's Lisa, she's latin right, and now there's Salma so he must be on to something latin. I mean considering we haven't seen any result of the mentioned collaborations it could all be connected somehow. Salma is an actress and if Keanu Reeves really has something to do with all this a latin movie!!!

Okay here is my theory - this is a video for the song that Prince has in the upcoming Keanu Reeves movie. The movie studio is springing for the video shoot so no money comes out of Prince's pocket.
I also think Prince's next cd won't be released until this song has been released & promoted by the movie studio. Then Prince will release a new cd.
Last I knew the Keanu Reeves movie was being released in March.
I can't remember the name of the movie except it co-stars Sandra Bullock.
