"Little Red Corvette" the song and "1999" the video -- the year was 1983

Ok, I'm showing my age here. I had just turned 13 and saw the album cover (big CD's for you kiddies) of Prince with the relaxed hair, moustache and just damn sexiness all over it. I bought it because of the cover. When I got it home and listened to it. OMG! I was hooked forever. Anything he came out with I could explain to all the people around me. It was just magic.

It was When Doves Cry for me. I was 14 and fell totally in love with him after I saw Purple Rain.

I heard 1999 and Litttle Red Corvette, but I wasn't a fan of those songs. I do like them now, though weirdly enough.

I discovered Prince through the hits/the b sides.....so it's hard to pick just one song. The whole album got me interested.....but if I had to pick just one I'd say PINK CASHMERE.

For me it was The Morning Papers (my dad used to play it all the time when I was little and when i got older and heard the song again,...sigh*...the memories it brought back 2 me. From that day forward, I fell in love with his music and listened to everything i could get my hands on)

Shortly after I heard 1999 and "Let's Pretend we're Married" at a friend's.

Life would never be the same again...

I was familar with some of the songs on 1999 and when Doves cry, but when i first heard let's go crazy, that was it. i bought the purple rain soundtrack and started working my way backwards on the other albums

Hmmm... perhaps "Diamonds & Pearls" and "Little Red Corvette". Those two were the most important in that respect.

Prince first caught my attention when I heard "Controversy", but It was "Little Red Corvette" that hooked me for good.

The two songs that hooked me on Prince were "1999" and "When Doves Cry"- amazing songs.

I loved "I Wanna Be Your Lover" but "Head" is the one that got me hooked.

I remember seeing it in the record store back in the day and staring at the back cover trying to see through the blur in a particular area of him riding on that horse.

My father bought the vinyl album for Controversy and Do Me Baby... but when I listened to the whole thing (while no one around cuase some of it was naaaaasteee) Let's Work is what hooked me.

Hearing the opening guitar riff for "Kiss" caught my attention. But I didn't divulge until I heard "Housequake" for the first time. That did it for me...
