"Purple Reign" the book by Liz Jones. What is your opinion on this book? | |

Is this the same one as Slave to the Rythmn?
Although there are a few factual errors I thought it was quite a good read. what did you think? Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

I have it, most of the information and quotes were nothing new, stuff Ive already seen on television, some cool pictures of P, Mayte, and Vanity, DMSR is much better, it has a lot more information about his early days. | |

"Purple Reign" is pretty good book. It doesn't go as in-depth with details about the work as, say, "The Vault", but it's clear Liz Jones is a fan. It's a not a smear-job. It features a lot of interviews with Prince's friends and co-collaborators. The only not so cool portion of the book is the final chapter, which is a conspiracy theory-type dissertation regarding the death of Prince and Mayte's child.
