There are so many morsels and clues in his works that this can't possibly be impossible. (Yeah, I said it! C'mon, hit me!!! I'm fierce! ) Really though, looking at the stereotype created by society that gay men dress in womens clothes, put on make-up and bitch in a high pitched voice is something we as Prince fans should know better. The things he did, he did for his performances which gave them sensuality and energy and had women swooning. It's like "yeah im gonna break the rules and be a well-groomed hetero and sing in a high pitched voice cause the ladies love it, i can show my talent and i don't really give a fuck what anyone else says". You really can't imagine Prince sitting there bitching in his high pitched voice with Mani's dress on, in interviews he was chilled talking in his normal voice, a complete pimp. Would he have talked about God so much if he was gay? Would he have become a JW if he was gay? And the biggest giveaway to me is, if he really was gay he'd do everything to look anything but that, and try and be really manly as he obviously is sick and tired of that rumour. It's obvious he was just secure with his masculinity. No Freestyling.

Intelligent people don't make those kind of comments unless they have a personal binding stake in the matter. Examples: Jerry Fallwell? I don't know how to spell his name....and that's a good thing or the Pope. They thrive off of fear and a askewed male set of standards for living. They are busy defending their versions of a God I like to call call control. They make their money on people who believe that sensational moral propaganda.
Basically I'm just saying that Prince is far too smart and progressive to have said that kind of comment. Let's hope! This is the kind of ridiculous fammy-fam delusional bullshit that makes me LAUGH SO HARD. Okay, so you say the Pope (and Jerry Fallwell) thrives off fear and a "skewed male set of standards for living", and "defending their versions of a God (you) like to call control", yet you think Prince DOESN'T act similarly??? Hahahahaha! Um, yeah, Prince doesn't like to control everybody around him: bandmembers, ex-bandmembers, ex-associates, ex-girlfriends,etc at all, does he? How they dress, what they eat, where they go, etc. ROFL It's well known he dictates pretty much every aspect of their life - privately and professionally - while said person is working for him or associated with him in whatever manner. Hell, he even dictated to people that come to Paisley Park for celebrations they coudn't eat meat on the premises or they'd be kicked off! And even after an ex-whatevertheyare and Prince part ways, he retains control over them to an extent via the legal documents and shit he makes the person sign to guarantee they keep their mouths shut about him and about details regarding their time with him. And oh yeah, he doesn't control anyone, either, with any "skewed male set of standards for living". Yeah, right. Hmmm, I guess alllll those women - even including up till Mayte - all CHOSE to all dress exactly the way they did (i.e.: like tramps), wear their makeup troweled on at all times like they did (ask Carmen about that...), and now Mani must fall into his JW mentality of "woman subjugated to man" or whatever the correct phrase is. And yeah, unlike the Pope and Jerry Fallwell, Prince also never preached "The Truth" to anybody in a holier than thou manner at concerts, or thru any lyrics or anything, therefore proving he doesn't "defend" or promote any specific religious dogma or beliefs. and yeah it wasn't Prince who made the statement at some concert or performance that if you didn't wanna know about the Truth or believe in the one true God (Jehovah) or whatever it was he said specifically, that he "didn't want to know you" or "didn't want to talk to you" or something? Have any opinion you want on Jerry Fallwell or the Pope or anybody else you want, but don't be delusional and deny Prince doesn't act the same damn way his own self..either directly or indirectly. As for him saying that about Wendy and Lisa - I believe he said it. didn't everybody surrounding these last years, bandwise at least, become JW? Isn't Paisley Park now *run by* JWs or at least in some affiliation with them, to the point where anyone wanting to use the recording facilities there are required to adhere to a certain set of rules about WHAT they are recording (like language or content of the music.)? I thought I'd read that about PP being under new management that was somehow connected to the JW church. If that stuff is true, why wouldn't he ask (demand) the same from Wendy & Lisa if he's going to work closely with them? ----- People say a lot of things when they are pissed off. It does not mean that P is a raging homophobe. It is funny how we can forgive all the old bigots from back in the 60's but, if one acts the least bit annoyed with a homosexual the world is coming to a end. We all say things that we don't mean from time to time. Wendy said in DMSR that P was hanging around to many Black people in the PR aftermath. I don't see anyone being upset over that crack.

As many associates and exes as he's pissed off over the years, they haven't been too reluctant to dish on the dude. But it still hasn't gone there. Does anyone know the story on Tom Cruise. When did the gay rumors start?

If this counts as rumor, I would say that I believe everything Kevin Smith said about him in the "Evening with Kevin Smith" DVD.
As bizarre as his account seems, I'm sure that it's true.

In fact, since he has had several band members who are openly gay, I would think if there was an inkling of truth to P being gay, it would be more likely to come out because of their lifestyle, the people they hang with would wag tongues about P's secret. The fact is, some of his dirt gets out, (making out in a public theater, wife #2 wearing wife #1's clothes at celebration parties... etc. You never heard anything about gay, except for media/fans who judge base on the clothes he wears. The clothes you wear does not mean you are sexually attracted to the same sex. Clothes are clothes. For people to break it down a complex issue like homosexuality to something as simple as the way a person dresses, is simple minded. JMHO. Even still, u can't believe everything u read and this may still be incorrect information, but I have a feeling it is true. I also believe the rumor that Prince was completely high when he made "Grafitti Bridge" because I have never been able to come up with a better explanation. All good things they say never last...
