Prince should stop dying his hair and let it grey.

A little salt N peppa up top would actually look quite regal!

Wrong!! My dad's 62 and has never had a strand of grey! My grandfather died at at 70 and neither did he!

Co-Sign!

1. It's not humanly possible to avoid grey hair as you age.

2. Even if it was... the odds would be one in a million.

Not if it was all grey, like that dude on the cover of Around the World in a Day! My hair is that grey (natural), though it's styled kinda like P in Grafitti Bridge, and the ladies wanna be grabbin' my locks alla time! thumbs up!

Forgive the pun, but Prince is actually the real Dorian Gray.
Deep inside the vaults of Paisley Park is an aged and grey portrait of Prince as a real 47 year old.
The Prince we know and love has no need to dye his hair or use the celebrity tools to maintain a youthful exterior. Our Prince is blessed/cursed with eternal youth.

"I know, now, that when one loses one's good looks, whatever they may be, one loses everything ... Lord Henry Wotton is perfectly right. Youth is the only thing worth having. When I find that I am growing old, I shall kill myself." Then he wished instead that the picture might grow old while he remained forever young: "I would give everything. I would give my soul for that!" Alarmed by these passions in the young man, Hallward attempted to destroy the painting, but Dorian stopped him and had it taken home that very evening.
"Prince don't hear Ravel when he wanna make love to his woman. He hears drums and shit." Miles Davis

That's not how it works. Your scalp problems stem from both your parents.

His daddy's bald, he's at least going to have thinning problems (which he hides well).

His daddy had grey hair, so he does too.

That "black sweat" dripping off the side of his face, at the Musicology movie on 3/29/04, could've only been one of two things. Fresh black hair dye, or black make-up to hide the thin areas from the spotlight.

THANK you! People need to read up on things before they go spouting myths and conceptions as fact.

The tendency to bald can come from *either* the mother or father's side. But, maybe it makes some people feel comforted to cling to the old wives' tale about baldness only coming from the mother/mother's side. lol wink

Was there really black sweat? eek

Personally, I think if Prince just lets it go grey, it would finally shatter the myth that sex appeal is for the young.

Prince is in great shape. I'm sure, in his age, in addition to waxing his bikini line, he's now got to remove some back and ear hair, but otherwise the man looks 15 years younger than his age.

If he let his hair go grey, he'd look like a very very fit 47 year old in lace panties, designer pumps, and silky threads to boot--THAT's BOUND TO SHATTER SOME STEREOTYPES. thumbs up!

Damn, I love that man. nod

i never saw any black sweat on him at any show or on the simulcast. he did have a SONG called 'black sweat' that he sang on the tour. sure there's not some confusion going on? lol

i think he should keep it black when he's touring, doing videos, etc., but when he's between projects, he should do whatever the heck he wants. if he were photographed at a game or something and he was rockin' the grey, i'd be impressed. i'd welcome him to the club! biggrin

Nope, no confusion. I know what I saw, and I wasn't the only one. You couldn't miss it on the giant screen. It's the reason he wrote the song.

Wouldn't it be cool if he went grey, then decided to wear his panties & high boots again for old times sake? That would REALLY be making a statement!

rolleyes Yeah, ok! First of all, IF and I do mean IF, Prince were to dye his hair, being the perfectionist that he is, he wouldn't use some crap that would run when he sweat.

I have a license in cosmetology and worked in a salon for five years, dyeing hair! I know for a fact dye does not run. A cheap rinse done by an amateur stylist might! However, in all the years I've followed Prince's career, he's never been cheap when it came to his looks and I'm pretty damn sure he doesn't let amateurs get in his hair.

Agreed!

That's why I don't think it was dye... I think it was:

I know we all love and appreciate Prince, but the bottom line is... he's human. On the otherhand, he's oldschool. He knows that one of his BIGGEST selling points is his looks, so he will continue to keep himself looking young, for as long as he can.

More power to him. Just as long as he keeps playing that guitar.

I think you are taking the term "Black Sweat" a little bit too literally. Listen to the song again, and see if you still think he's singing about the hair dye running down his face.
