I love his voice next to my ear when he´s whispering! shhh

Oooo, this reminds me of how I got chills listening to I hate u with the phones on, and Prince says I love you then whisper I love you, I felt like he was saying it to me!! eek I knew then, shorter and smaller than me, it didn't matter, if he whispered that in my ear, redface I am afraid I would give it up. redface

my opinion always changes but when he's singing in his normal range it's just average. I think his falsetto and screams adds the excitment to his voice.

He's very talented for being able to do all he can with his voice. And for deep-voiced man to reach such high notes is not very common. I'd like to hear more songs of his in his deeper voice because I know he's capable of it and it would be refreshing. But it's all good.

I much prefer the lower register. I couldn't stand JOTY until I heard it live in his "normal" voice. He's unique, thats what I like about his voice and his range, although sometimes he gets on my nerves live when he can't seem to decide whether to sing high or low and keeps switching during a song. It feels "pitchy" - to use a dreaded American Idol term.

What's JOTY?

I think it's the same like all his other instruments. Technically, he might not be the best at them, but he damn well knows close to perfection how to use them. I mean, f*ck the right breathing technics and stuff, when you still cannot do Adore.

I love Prince's falsetto, especially on his earlier work. Prince's falsetto has a certain "sassiness" that no one else's has. The screams are the absolute best.

Well technically Prince DO is a incredible singer, if he wasn't we could'nt hear him, because his voice naturally is not very good. He is a baritone who sings with falsetto, he can't cary high notes without falsetto, his voice is not powerfull like D'arby or chris cornell. His voice, is very common to my ears, it is incredible the way he uses it to sound great, i think that from all his skills, the voice is the one he putted more effort to surpass his lack of a really good voice. His voice is very limited but he went beyond it and I am sure he is the best singer he could be.

Did he formally take singing lessons or just pick it up like he did many instruments?

I LOVE his singing voice. High or low, it love the whole thing. The way he uses it and the way it works with the song is part of why I love Prince
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I ADORE Prince's singing voice. All of his different singing styles are so unique on their own, it's just amazing.

He can sing in a way that makes him sound totally badass, flat out sexy, sweet, full of rebellious attitude, and just so heartfelt.

Prince is an outstanding vocalist. There aren't many other singers who could pull off the songs he does. Didn't he just win two best male vocalist grammies for two different songs in two different categories? You don't do that without being able to flat out sing.

Earlier in his career, I used think he was a talented musician who was an ok singer, but I've come to realize I was underestimating his singing. How many other singers could pull off songs like The Most Beautiful Girl in the World, Adore, A Case of U, Eye Hate U, Damn U, How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore, etc. I know How Come U Dont' Call Me Anymore has been covered, but even Alicia Keys, as good a singer as she is, can't touch Prince's vocals.
