I recall reading BEFORE the release of the The Most Beautiful Girl In The World single that the B-side was going to be New World - a track inspired by an earthquake, I think in L.A. or something in early 1994. But Warners insisted on allowing only for one track, so New World had to be shelved.

The story is interesting as Turn It Up Vol.2 and Days of Wild lists New World as an early 1995 Emancipation recording. Which is funny, because I'm quite sure I read it in Uptown.

prince recorded the track New World in late January 1994. It was inspired by the earthquake in Los Angeles on January 17th 1994. It was rumored that the song, which was then believed to be called Love 4 One Another, would be the b-side to the forthcoming single, The Most Beautiful Girl In The World.

Well, I looked it up. It's in the "Crucial News" section of Uptown #12, January - March 1994 issue. biggrin
