Poem
Interactive Space Pheromone Loose! Papa Race Dark Solo Endophinemachine Strays Of The World The orginal version of the album Prince gave to Warner Bros to release included Interactive, Endorphinemachine, and Strays Of The World. Not completely satisfied with the album, Warner Bros wanted Shhh and The Most Beautiful Girl In The World. Prince refused, and added Come and Letitgo and different versions of the songs on the album. Goodnight, sweet Prince.

There were many early versions of Come made before the released one,
but the first one actually submitted to Warners was the following... 1. Poem 2. Interactive 3. Endorphinmachine 4. Space 5. Pheromone 6. Loose 7. Papa 8. Race 9. Dark 10. Solo 11. Strays Of The World

Please notice that the chronological recordings list and such has become just a little bit outdated by now. Since that thread was autolocked, new facts have been learned. So I plan on doing a thread with an update. Soon. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

Just saw this tracklist on that previous thread:
*** Come Endorphin Machine Hide The Bone Chaos & Disorder Listen 2 The Rhythm Now Right The Wrong Acknowledge Me Ripopgodezippa The Most Beautiful Girl In The World 319 Shy Billy Jack Bitch Eye Hate U Gold *** This was NOT a tracklist for "The Gold Album", this was a planned release for a 3 track "Live" EP/single ("Come", "Endorphin Machine" and "Hide The Bone" under the name ) The rest of the tracks were for one of the early WB "The Vault" series (parts I, II, III) which were credited to Prince that never materialised, which were later again spruced up and mixed for an album called "Heart" before being split and again remixed for "The Gold Album" (which, after much rearranging of tracks, became "The Gold Experience) "Glam Slam Ulysses", "Crystal Ball", (maybe also "The Dawn) and the 3 WB "The Vault" releases before Prince took the tracks back, made an arrangement with WB and finished the 2 releases ("Chaos & Disorder" and "The Vault: Old Friends 4 Sale") WB wanted and eventually released... Makes sense. Remove the first three tracks from that list and you've got something a bit more Gold Experience-like. I always wondered about that particular track list, anyway, as it sure didn't leave much room for NPG Operator segues or anything. It was just too many tracks for one CD. But now it makes sense. So thank you. But then I am confused once again as you're saying The Vault Vol.I-III that were rumored in 1995/96 were actually done in early 1994? What was on the other two discs, I wonder? And if so, it sounds like the Vault vol.I-III might actually have been what was renamed The Dawn before being split back into Come and Gold? The Vault series were done around the time Prince sold "The Black Album" to WB... What was on the other two discs, I wonder?
See: "Chaos & Disorder", "The Vault: Old Friends 4 Sale" and "Crystal Ball"... And if so, it sounds like the Vault vol.I-III might actually have been what was renamed The Dawn before being split back into Come and Gold?
"The Dawn" has been rumoured (ever since the first time I heard about it in 1989 on that MPLS radio station that used to play exclusive PP stuff) to be an ongoing project that keeps growing and getting bigger and bigger ever since he dropped that "The Dawn" musical thing back in 1986/1987 which later evloved into "Graffiti Bridge" in 1990... Others say "The Dawn" was the original name of the released "Crystal Ball" set... I think "The Dawn" is just his personal nickname for his vault... Neversin. O(+>NIИ<+)O

The Vault series were done around the time Prince sold "The Black Album" to WB... So this timeline of album configurations isn't too far off? (And once again, it is possible that the tracklists for the May and June-August 1993 configurations of Come should be switched, plus no released album configurations are included in this list, only unreleased configurations.) I like the final configuration of Come.
There is one cohesive mood and atmosphere from beginning to end. Those other songs would have jolted the mood. I would not like hearing Interactive after Space.

Aha! That might very well be the live-set that The Artist offered to WB in early 1995, as the offer may have been conceptual - meaning that the actual live-set had yet to be made. Tell us more. I've heard the show, but never heard that this might have become an album/EP. Given the Live EP mentioned before, this would be the second time he put together a configuration of tracks recorded in Glam Slam Miami, a year apart.

Which date was the 1994 recording made? (So's I can go look for it. ) Well, I think Come and Endorphinmachine were played on June 7 1994 (at Glam Slam - they had also been played many other times elsewhere), and Hide The Bone was only played on June 9, 1994 (and a couple of other times in 1995). I'm only inferring from what's above - I have no info about this EP other than what's on this thread...

This is the same like all those "configurations" of the "High" album, it's just a collection of new songs for different projects... The difference between this and say the first config of "Dream Factory" is that "Dream Factory" was an actual album, in March 1993 "Come" wasn't even considered yet to be an album, his publicists even anounced that he was retiring from studio recording and releasing albums, for a while, to venture in "musical and movie" idea's... Actually it's from 1985/1986... The blues-album is news to me. Considering The Undertaker is pretty much blues, is that what the idea for a blues-album evolved into (as Peach was performed at the The Undertaker session), or did the idea for a blues-album come afterwards and was then abandoned because Warners demanded The Undertaker printing destroyed?
The plan was to release "The Undertaker" with the corresponding "Guitar World" issue and right after that a new album with just blues songs ("The Undertaker" was to function as a "prelude" of what was to come...) Anyways, considering that Borisfishpaw has seen the actual configuration mentioned above, I really don't think it can be dismissed as not being a configuration. Why, I made a home-made CD-R of this particular configuration and it plays extremely well, Peach and all.
Maybe... But the timings don't match either... "Peach" was never intended for "Come" and "Dolphin" wasn't edited yet to the timing of the released version on "The Gold Experience"... This also just seems like a compilation of recorded songs and not a config of an album (not to mention that it was never submitted to WB...) Neversin. O(+>NIИ<+)O
