prince's early sound was very hendrix like

i find it very funny that prince once said in an interview from 1985 about
how he don't like hendrix,
how he prefeirs santana over jimi.

prince's early sound on telecaster was very hendrix like sound.

prince only in latter period show that santana was an influance, but
his real influance was jimi all the way.

There's no way he ever said he doesn't like Jimi.

Prince didn't want anybody to know his influences, he didn't like to be compared to Hendrix, or anybody, he wanted to be seen as an original. He is so obviously influenced by Hendrix. Not only in the guitar gimmicks, and stances, but in the clothing and Purple ("haze") obsession as well.

Even the androgyny.
Goodnight, sweet Prince.

Jimi was and still is an innovator. ANY guitar player on earth knows that...
This is why people refer to him everytime...

He was so original back then, he definitely changes the History of Music...

I wonder how Jimi would feel having Prince as one of his spinoffs.
Working up a purple sweat.

yes, Prince doesn´t like to SAY his influences, but we all know them.
In a Guitar World interview, he said that his all-time fave guitarist was Sonny T. Ok, Sonny may be his childhood hero, but we all know that he borrowed a lot from Santana and Jimi.

Dugen

2 bad Jimi couldn't have lived longer. I couldn't even imagine what else he would've done with the guitar.
