I read in DanceMusicSexRomance (Or maybe an Uptown mag or something) that 200 balloons was about condoms. 'Fly with me'

Actually it couldn't of been that book because it only talks about the music upto Lovesexy. Maybe it was in the SlaveToTheRhythem book. I can't remember but I did read that somewhere. neutral

"La La" was pretty much a nod to George Clinton's "Atomic Dog". At least that's my theory.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Alledgedly Sheena Easton had a discussion with Prince in which she stated that a song with lyrics "I love you, you love me" could never be a good song.
Prince wrote and recorded La, La, La, He, He, Hee to prove otherwise! Sheena is credited as co-writer of the lyrics.

"La, La, La, He, He, Hee" was a song he wrote after someone challenged him that he could not write a song with such a silly title. Obviously he could. The full 10 min version is pretty funkin cool.

I believe that as well, IstenSzek. And, I believe that it was Sheena Easton who made the challenge...

"200 Balloons" is a title taken from a scene in the first Batman movie which centers around the joker in that parade through Gotham with all the balloons filled with poison gas.

Note: I'm not 100% sure, so if some know-it-all fanatic knows better, please don't resort to flaming and spitting vile, just correct me. thanx.

I believe that’s correct. I would only add that it's "200 Balloons" because the parade in Batman was in celebration of Gotham's 200th Anniversary. I believe this song was originally submitted for the parade scene, but was later rejected in favor of "Trust".
