Prince & Wicca = witchcraft

As alot of u may have know, Prince was a artist who mastered the skill of adding a bit of mystery to genera in music, but as I've done a lot of studying both in religion & music, I've come 2 the analysis a lot of prince music. especially back in the days represented the works of witchcraft, particular (Wicca). Through out the course of career, he have written lyrics about a witch (shockadelica). Of course this all just a assumption of mines. A lot of prince music was symbliminal. He talks about things only he knew what truth was hidden inside, knowing what I know based on the religion and the music, looking at the cover of purple rain, remembering the live performances of the concert. I’ve come to the conclusion that prince may have been inspired by some the Wicca’s beliefs, art and tactics. Prince has grown a lot over the years, both as a man and musician, even though it was something he may have been interested in at one time, I don’t necessarily believe it’s apart of his message in music today. He pretty much as expressed how he’s dedicated to Jehovah which ticked a lot of the fans off, who don’t believe in God but choose a alternative religion such what is named above. Anyways this is all just a assumption. I’m putting 2 +2 2gether, as far as I’m concerned it makes a whole lot of sense.
John 3:16-20 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Shockadelica was just a fun song about a dominant woman who's really controlling and manipulative; I don't think you were meant to take it so seriously.
The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

This reminds me of is was this one time when I felt a really strong dryness inside me, like around my throatal region and areas, and it occurred to me that I needed to do something about this parchitude sensation and that I had certain resources in my reach with which I could cure myself of my throatal aridity; so what I did was I traversed from the room in which I keep my sofa, television, area rugs, and general lounging necessities, and I journeyed across the studio apartment which I began renting almost four years ago until I found myself in another room in this space, which has a device with dials which heats digestibles and another device - a kind of basin surrounded by cupboards - which features an on/off device - some might call it a dispenser - which allows one to access a clear, taste-free liquid. It was this liquid which I journeyed to this part of my living space - this "kitchen", as I call it - to acquire. I knew that if I could put this liquid inside my body somehow, I could improve the nagging dryness in my throatal region. At this point, I opened one of the cupboards (which you probably know as little closet-like box things that hang from the walls and have doors on them and shelves inside - other people call them 'cabinets') and procured a cylindrical glass object which was sealed at one end, and open at the other. At this point, it occurred to me that I could place the glass cylinder under the on/off liquid dispenser, and the liquid (which Native Americans call 'water') would catch in the glass object. So I carried through with this plan, and eventually had enough liquid (or 'water') to lift to my face, and force into my head by way of opening my mouth and pouring the liquid into my head. And with the pouring of the liquid, as I suspected, the throatal dryness was no more. And this is why Prince & wicca = Witchcraft.

That is all.

I guess all I’m trying to ask is were there any ties 2 Prince & Witchcraft back in the days, especially during the 1999/ Purple Rain days ? I know Vanity once mentioned after leaving Prince, she was into divination, u know that’s when people try to talk to people from the grave…… so I’m wondering we all know prince was weird, but was he into weird things such as the things named above

Ur not completely off. The 1999 imagery is cabalistic in nature, the numbers 1999 also have significance…but the only Gods and Goddesses Prince worships are the ones residing in his ego. That doesn’t’ mean Prince hasn’t or doesn’t practice “witchcraft”…Wicca is just one form of craft. Being the intelligent artist he is , Prince was probably up on all religons and beliefs until he settled for the watcht eye wer folk. P doesn’t strike me as a witch or serious adept, but you never know…………. (Scary X-files music)

Yeah, I did hear about that but, I thought he had given it to Janet. Anyway it had weird stuff in it I don't recall the items but it was sorta like ingredients you'd use to cast spells or something.

OK, first falloff @ Anxiety's post!!

I don't think Prince probably knows much about magic, but may use methods of it, without specifically know that's what he's doing/done.

I don't know much about magic, but recently I was reading about signils (I think that's the term). This is a symbol that represents something else, and you can charge these signils with energy in a variety of ways from meditation or orgasm (anyone who knows about this stuff, please forgive my layman's terms, or correct any mistakes).

So, first, I'd make the connection here to prince - Which is a symbol (a signil?).

And also, maybe Prince does know a little about this stuff, the intro to One Song talks about words being a binding spell (spell-ing as he says).

I'm not saying he dresses up as Harry Potter and sacrifices to Mayte's dog to Satan, but I bet he's read some stuff that at least referenced it.

the only thing in Prince's whole musical career that comes
even remotely close to anything "wicca" is these lines:

I'm the one who sent the herbs
and a book on how to use them

but even that is not strictly wicca. herbal remedy covers
a whole spectrum of practices.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

some people have this real distored view of "the path" some folx have this idea that wicca and or paganism is devil worshipping evil. granted there are some forms of "Dark magic". but in all actuality wicca is older than christianity.

but we wont get all deep in that. people really need to read up on it before calling someone a "witch" or a "warlock".

Being a fan from the 1999 era and an African-American I can say that some people find P a little spooky.

Some people think he want down to the crossroads and made a deal with devil and I think it has a lot to do with the following things.

1 Working 20 hours a day on music.
2.Mastering so many insturtments.
3.Doing outragous things in his carreer and getting away with it.
4. All the woman that seem to follow him around as if he were a Pied Piper.
5. Building a mystic around himself with lies and half-truths to the point were
public did not know what was real or fake.

I don't think P made a deal with anyone but, I can see why you would think he had some knowledge of the dark arts. I think he just works hard, is very talented and has been really lucky.

Half of Christianity's holidays are stolen from paegan holidays, right... So Christians have no room to point the finger, but like you say that's a whole other story, it'll just get the thread locked, this place is full of religious nutjobs.

No, u are not far off. During his second album, he got a lot of coverage from Black music magazines and teen mags. Right On! and later, Black Beat. Anyway, around 79, black girls LOVED Prince. Bigtime. Then when P released Dirty Mind, some girls thought he looked "kinda weird". BUT when P came out with "Controversy" in 81, that's when I heard the most backlash from the same black girls and others. My friends parents or their elders, uncles, aunts, grandparents, etc. Everyone to some extent commented on P's eyes and how he looked "evil". The same girls who adored P just two years earlier were now scared to death of him. That stayed with P easily up untill 85. P played with imagery and backward masking in the same vein as Led Zeppelin, Bowie and The Stones. There is no doubt about that.
