Maceo performed a lot of his songs, sorry I don't the names of them. Prince had a woman come up and the band did a funky rendition of Aretha's "Rock Steady" while Prince played the keyboards. Sorry I can't help you with the lyrics to "3121" but I can say it's a funky song! Hope that helps biggrin

Thanks 'time! That was very cool of you. smile Was the woman named Ashley Ta'Mar and did Frank McCombs play any keyboards for her tune?

I'm not sure because I don't know those people are. I assumed it was Maceo's band and really didn't pay too much attention to them. The only person I recognized in the band was Greg Boyer and of course Matthew on the congas. wink I usually don't post here a lot I usually just read people's comments and keep it moving, but I wanna say something. A lot of people are criticizing the report on the party, saying it's a whole lot of name dropping but honestly the party wasn't pretentious. It was a really laid-back vibe. Prince and Mani was very gracious hosts and everyone had a good time. No one was stand-offish and it didn't matter who you were you could talk to and with anybody there. I say that to say I don't think the person who reported on the party was name dropping it just so happens that those were the people who were there. I, for one, had a great time there and it was the perfect way to wrap up my weekend in LA.

Glad you had a great time in L.A. and thanks for sharing with us.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

This all seems so strange to me. P is usually a privite person. Paris Hilton and so on? WTF. Maybe some real musicians, but come on now!

The actual musician types around Prince have to be "real", but everyone else can be fake, vapid, useless poseurs who possess no discernable talent. wink

Her report was pretty accurate as to what happened, what other details are you looking for? I'm just curious to know.

I would have liked to see a setlist and more details about this new band Prince has supposedly assembled for one. Two, the complete lyrics to "3121" and a clip.

lol

Do we know something about The Prince New album( rumours are going on the net about the participation from Old friends)?

Thanx4reply

You wouldnt go to a party thrown by the Skip, but you would so-moderate a website devoted to him.

Also, do you think that ugly people are God's cruel joke on humanity (like the platypus and the heterosexual) or another form of population control?

Trite but true.

in this instance, how in the world would you know if it were true or not? you weren't attending the party or any of that...it's trite both in action and in thought. th' hell'd somebody wanna lock a bunch of folks outta a jinky party just because? it's just silly.

hey Handz? remember the paisley parties?

"doors open at ... .. lol and did the gates ever open at....? HELL no. not once. not ever. is prince concerned about time, generally? nope. nuh uh. but wtf? THIS time he's worried about the clock? man is he weird or what? falloff i don't know why but this is making me laugh a little more than i should. poor prince. it must have been a rocking party all right but too bad he snubbed all those utterly cool people that way
