Would P Undergo A Blood Transfusion ?

Jehovas aren't allowed to do that , are they ?
Also i heard they aren't allowed to have injections
So what would he do then in case of a life threatening situation ?
Just die ?!

Nope, totally against the religion.

So yeah, he'd have to get artificial blood or die.

Pretty stupid huh?

U dont need blood transfusions in surgery!!!

In 1988, I had an ectopic pregnancy, where I was bleeding profusely every time I went 2 the restroom and in total pain from head 2 toe and I was rushed 2 hospital with only one day 2 live(the surgeons said that if I delayed my admittance for another 24 hours, then I would have died). I refused blood transfusions and I ended up healing and recovering far quicker than the other patients who were admitted even before me!!!

All u need 2 do is 2 eat 6 UNsalted peanuts a day and your blood will b built up again 2 its required level!!

Gold319 - you were just lucky. And where the hell did you get the peanut information from? What do peanuts have to do with blood production - I'd like to know.

If Prince were to stick strictly with his faith, then he would not accept a blood transfusion. There are plenty of examples of families who have suffered because of this belief, and a few rare examples like that of Gold319.

There is an alternative to Blood Transfusion where they Use
cellsavers during surgery to collect, recirculate and readminister the patient's own blood. Thus that would be his option...

nod Yes, they R allowed to get injections. When P is on tour, a doctor travels with him and gives him injections of vitamin B12 (I think it's B12, anyway). He even had a doc with him on the Musicology tour.

Like preciosa's above comment I was going to mention Selena's death. Her dad refused a blood transfusion. sad How can one do that to their own offspring?

Sure, she died needlessly, but at least the almighty rules of the JW were obeyed. That's all that matters, right? rolleyes

Are you a JW? I didn't mean to offend anyone, and I do apologize if I did. rose
I just can't fathom being in such predicament myself. There are plenty of things I feel very strong about, but none are meaningful enough to choose life over. twocents

I was raised one, but I'll be damned if I'll ever believe that stuff again.

I was actually agreeing with your comment.

Actually no, you won't be damned. wink
Further, since you claim to have been raised a JW I'm surprised that you made such a false comment. It's not a "JW rule" to avoid blood transfusions. It's a biblical law, followed by JWs.

Yeah sure rolleyes, the JWs are the only ones who really know how to read the bible rolleyes

That's not what I said. Tons of people read the bible. Some choose to apply what they learn, some don't. I'm not sure if JW's are the only ones who don't accept blood transfusions. We're just the main ones people like to come down on for it.

Jon

“1665 - The first Blood transfusions of record take place. Animal experiments conducted by Richard Lower, an Oxford physician started as dog-to-dog experiments and proceeded to animal-to-human over the next two years. Dogs were kept alive by the transfusion of Blood from other dogs.”

“Thou shalt not tranfuse blood” must have been one of god’s later entries into the bible then….

Prince proved more than once that he's a hypocrite. So I'm absolutely convinced that he would accept a blood transfusion. No doubt at all.
