Mickey free was in a group in the 80s called Shalamar. Jody Watley used to be in that group. THey had a big hit with a song called "a night to remember".

Yeah, but they weren't in Shalamar at the same time. "Night To Remember" came out before Mickey joined.

That is correct....None of the songs that have been mentioned here in this thread, were songs that Mikki Free did with Shalamar(they were done before he joined). Those songs were done when Howard Hewitt(Say Amen) was lead singer.

That is true, by the time Mikki came on the scene, Shalimar was pretty much over. They were the chit when Jeffrey "kick a Stephanie Mills azz" Daniels was still with the group.
or was it Howard "big ego" Hewlett that left??? hmmm

Jeffrey Daniels and Jody Watley left first. Then Shalamar was HH, MF, and Delisa Davis. They put out one album which had at least one cool song "Melody (An Erotic Affair)". Don't remember the other songs. HH left and was replace with Sidney Justin who had played cornerback for the Los Angeles Rams. They put out two albums but I never heard anything from them.

Shirts vs. Blouses describes how the teams were made up; Charlie Murphy's team had on shirts and called Prince's team Blouses for their gear. BTW the play "Darling Pikki" is my favorite.
