That's a few days after Let's Pretend We're Married and slap-bang in the middle of the Vanity 6 album recordings. Yes. It was recorded on Saturday, April 3, 1982. Prince was mixing a live album at Sunset Sound and while doing the mix for HEAD, he started recording the basic tracks and overdubs for EXTRA LOVABLE. The remainder of the weekend (Sunday April 4th) was spent doing vocal overdubs on the track. Eventually the live album and Extra Lovable were both left in the vault. The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. This is one of my favorite unreleased Prince jams. Classic "old Prince". I'd love to see it released so I can have a nice crisp version of it.  Andy is a four letter word. | |

Would this kind of detail be found in "The Vault" book? I have to get myself a copy for sure! I love learning dates and things like this. It is astounding to think someone could create such beautiful, creative, unique songs in a just a few days!! I think it would take me a year to create a song!
