Most underrated classic song by Prince-Avalanche

Yes, it's another topic about P's classic songs. But this one gets almost zero recognition, and that's probably cause almost no one's been able to hear the album it's off of.

This song's haunting and dark, somber and provocative. You can tell these lyrics about racism and the truth about Abe Lincoln really mean a lot to our guy.

There's also a grace to it though that adds to its melancholy mood. It's one of P's best piano ballads.

The piano arrangement really sounds like a classic Chopin piece.

It's a very beautiful song indeed, although I prefer the jazzier live version. The one from the ONA Chicago boot is killing me, so beautiful!
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Novabreaker

I don't mind the lyrical content at all (really, I'm not concerned if one of the American ex-preesidents was a radish or not), but I just don't like the way he sings that line. I know lot of others say it sounds emotional, but to me it sounds just pissy.

See, that's what I like. I love when you can tell he really cares about the subject matter.

Nothing irritates me more than in songs like Hot Wit U where you can tell he's bored out of his fucking mind singing it.

Avalanche gets me cause the piano's got that really effective Chopin-esque Nocturne melancholia sound and it has a really sombre mood to it throughout.
