It has recently occured to me, after reading the "heels" thread, that Prince is more feminine that I am. Now, I never thought of myself as a girly-girl, but damn, he makes me feel like I'm straight up butch.

What do I mean? Well, let's start with the heels. Recently we orgers have spent a lot of time on the subject of his footwear. Now there is no reason in the world for me NOT to break out the heels. For one thing, they make everyone look better, and not because of height (I'm 5'10"). Wearing them is probably the single-most feminine thing you can do to make yourself look nice.

Now I realize that he has his own designers and stylists and the like. And yet....I feel there is more I can do. Shucks, there are plenty of women around me that are on point all the time. I live in NY dammit. But he's quite a role model. He is always pimped out.

I remember in one of his interviews (Omnibus?), Eric Leeds was saying that at a rehearsal some exec came by and said that the the band could take off their costumes (or something like that). Prince got all huffy and said, "Those are not costumes, those are their clothes." Apparently, he does not even want to be around you if your attire is not on point. He assumes that everyone is as dapper as he is.

And everyone at PP says that he dresses like we see him in public all the time. Susan Rogers (who was his sound engineer for about 5 years) said she saw him in jeans exactly once and that was early on.

And of course Prince is the original metrosexual (there was a thread about that some weeks ago). He probably has a full body treatment every day. I bet if you touched his skin it would feel like satin. And I can only imagine how delicious he must smell.

Are there any ladies out there who feel the way that I do? I never thought I would be getting style inspiration from a dude (and a straight one at that!)

gotta disagree with you on this one...i ain't puttin on high heels and a friggin dress for nofuckinbody. leave it to princey to dress up for ya, it'll save the hassle.

doesnt matter that he probably wears more make up than u 2.

Even counting my wedding dress, Prince has worn 100 times the lace and silk I will ever wear!

Who do you think is more feminine.. Prince or Mani? He's more manly now than he's ever been (but that isn't saying very much).

But I do think his metrosexuality is on par with her heterosexuality.
