This song is one of my favorites - it takes me to a close-your-eyes-and-let-him wash-over-every-part-of-your-body moment.
I can always appreciate those.

Question of U is fucking incredible. It's amazing in every way. The guitar solo? Magically haunting. LOVE this song. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

i know a sound engineer (early prince fan) who spoke to Tom Garneau in the mid-nighties. They got onto the subject of Working for Prince. Tom, who apparently worked on the track in question, stated that the initial recordings at paisley park started with the song being called 'Life Without U'. Supposedly, the line went like - "Of all of the things 2 lose...Life without U" (only an estimation of the lyric i was told, very old memory!). I love the Question of You! great track! You do as I say

I never realized how much I liked this song and how catchy I find the beat plus that guitar solo in the middle, wow! SO my question to you all, does anyone else jam to Question of U?
I just got GB for a gift this X Mas and I saw that video. Yes it is a good song and it's definately catchy. That guitar solo part is awesome too. I've been jamming to "Question of U" in my car since I saw that. Good Song. Paul G II

The video was part of a TV special in Japan..Nagoya I beleive, The Nude tour was taped and broadcast of Japan TV...It is available as a bootleg in the states, I have it, not bad performance, so highs and lows...The lowest point in the Tony M rap on the Future, and i think the version of batman was not up 2 par...Highlights from the show are BAMBI, PURPLE RAIN, THE QUESTION OF U and 1999 I wish U love & peace.

This makes sense since "The Question Of U" was first committed to tape in the summer of 1985. The released version actually uses elements of the original recording. . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

leecaldon said: I love every version of ? of U that I have heard, apart from the version on Graffiti Bridge. What is it with the production on that album? The song sounds so empty on there, compared to, say the Ahdio Show version (as bluesy as Prince can get) or the one from the Musicolgy tour that is up on the NPGMC website.
Anybody know where/when the Ahdio Show version was recorded? I LOVE the guitar solo on this one. Stopped me cold in my tracks when I first heard it. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here.

This is a wonderful track. It is my favorite song the GB soundtrack.
I love Prince's ballads. They are truly soulful. He is a true R&B artist when it comes to his ballads. No one can do it better. Peace and Be Wild! Tamborine68
