PHEROMONE I know, I know, I sound like a newbie (not that there's anything wrong with dat), the words to Pheromone have always bugged me. The very beginning has Prince saying things in the background. It almost sounds like he's mirroring what he's singing....but I don't know. Something about "..vast way that somthing something something-or-other" I know what the lyrics say but they don't always match, i.e. "sex, sex is all I heard" from Let's Go Crazy.

Always thought this was an underrated song - I interpret it as being about voyeurism - Prince watching a couple play out some sex fantasy - here are the lyrics as transcribed by the PLTT - and before you ask a gat is a pistol -

I've listened to this song dozens of times, and I've never paid attention to the words other than the chorus. It's got such a heavy groove to it that he could be talking about Diane Sawyer and Charlie Gibson, and I'd still dig the shit. | |
