LIL KIM as apposed to PRINCE

OK.
I just need to know this. It seems that it's perfectly ok for me to make comments about how Lil Kim's skin has lightenned over time, but if I even alude to it about Prince, I get branded ignorant or racist.

I just need to know--are people delusional when it comes to Prince? Or is pointing out skin color somehow intrinsicaly racist? I don't understand? And why is it o.k. to dish on Kim and not P?

i cant dish on Kim or Prince...both had their faults...only Kim hasnt learnedfrom hers yet..and the reason why she lightened her self over time is just the makeup..i believe she felt as if caucasians get the action then so should she....i dunno..correct me if i am wrong here PEOPLE!!

Well, the world they grew up in didn't lend itself to much diversity, as the world I grew up in didn't either. Magazines, T.V., what you hear people saying--it all has a strange affect. One day, you kind of wake up and understand that their is a huge universe in which we can define beauty and it is not limited to just round eyes, or slanted eyes, straight hair or curly hair--but, being a minority in America can still be tough.

But my point is: WHy is it that if I remark on his skin color, I become the victim of a which hunt, but if I say the same thing about Lil Kim, everyone is all over that like white on rice?

How hard is the answer to this really? confused Folks like Lil' Kim and MJ who were obviously darker skinned black people at one point in their career are going to be under scrutiny when they appear to be "high yellow" one year. Prince has been the same "high yellow" since birth, the only variance depends upon which brand of pancake makeup he chooses to wear that day. So beyond why Prince's actual skin color is even questioned, why is this an issue again confuse

i personally don't give a rats ass if u get lighter. i just find it sad. i find little kim sad. if michael really doesn't a vitiligo i find him sad. and there have been times where i looked @ the prince and for u album colors and he's golden brow...then look @ pr..and he's light brotha/caucasion lookin..then look @ parade or around the world or lovesexy pics and its whoooosh! i find that sad

u get what i'm sayin? now i don't think prince has bleached his skin...i mean really why would he have to? but i do find it sad that at one point he wore white white make up..it kinda says something.
Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...

I don't hold back on this, either (even though a certain friend of mine wants to kick me in the nads every time I bring it up): Prince is quite obviously "less black" than he was in the early days. Why? How? I have no idea. But, despite lyrics to the contrary, he's thinned his nose and lightened his skin (could it be makeup?).

Why would he do this? I have no idea. People do stupid things.

It's his body, I guess.

i don't think there's anything wrong with this accusation at all - go ahead and make it, as far as i'm concerned.

but i think you're wrong. i think his skin is the same damn color it's always been, maybelline moments notwithstanding.

Well that's probably because this topic has been run into the ground. I am the same complextion as Prince over the years depending on the camera, lighting etc. I will either look lighter or darker. This has nothing to do with any sort of skin lightening cream or any other type of medical procedure its just my skin reflecting a flash same with Prince. This is fact not fiction. No big deal. Also my skin color fluxuates just like everyone else depending on how much sun I or anyone else gets.

I think skin color fascination is racist and it is something the whole world suffers from so just take that for what its worth. You wouldn't be the first to be skin affected and you won't be the last.

As for Little Kim I think that she is using alot of make upf. She may be doing the full Micheal Jackson because God knows that she has messed her face up big time so I would not put it past her.

Peace

IDIOTS,

I am only responding to this dumb fucking topic cause you fuckers are stupid.

If you think Prince has changed his skin color, that's because your too fucking dumb to understand your TV changes colors on different channels and not every picture is the same brgithness.

Motherfuckers, Prince isn't MICHAEL JACKSON.

And no, Prince didn't GET HIS NOSE DONE or ANYTHING DONE.

Listen..., if Prince was into that, don't you think the fucking Tabloids would cover it???

I WOULD LIKE TO ADD;PRINCE DID APPEAR A LITTLE DARKER THAN NOW. I DON'T BELIEVE THAT IT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH PLASTICE SURGERY OR ANYTHING. PEOPLE FAIL TO REALIZE THAT WHEN YOU START OUT AS A CELEB NINE TIMES OUT OF TEN YOU'RE POOR.SO WHEN YOU START GETTING ALL THAT GOOD MONEY, YOU TEND TO TAKE CARE OF THINGS THAT IN YOUR POOR DAYS YOU PROBABLY COULDN'T AFFORD. FOR AN EXAMPLE A MAN GETTING FACIALS AND SKIN CARE TREATMENTS? LOOK AT PRINCE WHEN HE FIRST CAME OUT DURING THE "FOR YOU" ALBUM AND LOOK AT HIM DURING "PURPLE RAIN" HE LOOKED ALOT BETTER. MY POINT IS THAT MONEY CAN IMPROVE SOME PEOPLE LOOKS. EDDIE MURPHY AND CHRIS ROCK,REMEBER WHEN THEY FIRST STARTED OUT THEY WAS A MESS BUT, WHEN THEY STARTED GETTING THAT MONEY THEIR LOOKS IMPROVED ALOT! I FEEL THAT IS THE SAME CASE CONCERNING PRINCE. PRINCE IS FINE AS HELL SO NOTHING REALLY MATTERS! wink

I don't think he's had his skin lightened, but I do wonder why he sometimes makes his face up like this:

-----I tried to post a picture and my computer just ate it. Can anyone maybe find it for me and post it?

It's a picture from the early 90's I believe (he's got the Typhoon). The shot's of the side of his face as he's talking to another guy, and they're sitting down. Prince went pretty heavy on the eyeshadow that day, and his makeup is deathly white. I think he's wearing red lipstick too! Anyway, it's a spooky picture, and it's not from a photo shoot.

Lets' just sum this all up shall we.....

Theory one:

The way I see it, when Prince was younger he wore lighter make-up to make him look.....well lighter than what he normally is!! But now since the man is knocking on 50 yrs, he has to wear darker make-up to cover up the things that he doesn't want to be seen. Hince which explains why he looks darker now than he did then.

Theory two

He has stopped the bleaching of his skin. It's quite obvious that he was darker during his first couple of albums. Then suddenly out of the blue he started getting lighter. All I got to say is thank god he didn't take it to the level Micheal did, but hey he did something.

Prince has not lightend his skin. It is called make-up, lighting and a tan. If he tried to lighten his skin he would probaly vanish as he is already light. Everybody on this thread needs to get a firm grip on reality.

Exactly....the word "racist" was never used. he simply made a dumb statement and can't handle when ppl called him on the "prince is a little light for a black guy" dumb ass statement and then proceeded to explain what a "black man" looks like. He should have just said, it was dumb and continued the conversation. Black ppl are light, dark, brown, etc. etc.....it was simply a dumb statement. some of ya'll don't realize that black folks tan just like other ppl. We get darker in the summer, etc, etc. So the IGNORANCE continues with this thread as well.
Its sooooo obivious that AsianBomb DIDN'T read what some of us posted about his statement. he jumped into some "they calling me a racist" bullshit". I don't think because you're ignorance on an issue of race and color that makes you racist. I just thought that statement was just silly and did show signs of ignorance about the different colors of black folks.

I know I didn't call him a racist...just naive. neutral

Lawd...and someone else typed "less black".....gawd

and AMEN Calhoun! You guys say some really dumb shit.

"Everybody" ? I already said I don't think he's lightened his skin. He may have, but I doubt it. I did ask why he thinks he needs to occasionally paint himself deathly white.

There's a specific picture I'm thinking of that illustrates this. I have it on my computer, but have no idea how to post a picture that isn't on the internet. Can someone please check the description in my post above and post the picture? Thanks.
