I don;t think it IS coming. Prince said in an interview conducted by one of the Boston papers ( I think it was Boston) that HBO wanted to do a concert special, but the contract for said special would prevent him from appearing elsewhere for 1 year. I think this caused him to rethink the show.

2 my understanding it is surpose to be shown on Oct.3. Right b4 the Galatti fight on Showtime. They r showing the concert and the fight for free 2 every1, even if u do not have showtime. I think that they r diong this 2 spite HBO. Good 4 them.

Yes it will be shown on Showtime in October and there will be plenty of advertisement once that time nears. Prince will perform before the fight. It’s a championship fight that night on Showtime and HOB. Showtime vs. HBO for viewing purposes. Showtime is banking on people watching them because of P’s performance. Everyone wants 2 c the fight on HBO with Bernard Hopkins vs. Oscar DeLa Hoya. Big money fight with those 2. Now Showtime is showing the comeback of Felix Trinadad if I can remember right. I could be wrong so someone will correct me on this one.

I WISH it was on HBO, cuz, for the most part, Showtime sucks. Worse yet, I don't have it.

Like any self-respecting fan of quality television, I do subscribe to HBO.

There is not anything about a possible show on the Showtime home page. October is only a few weeks away, you would think there would be some type of advertisement....

I'm sorry. Its Oct 2nd not the 3rd. Thats what I'm hearing. I don't know this 2 be gospel. I'ts just what I'm hearing.

I just checked the entire Showtime October schedule and there is no Prince concert listed anywhere. It's true that there would be MAJOR advertising if they did score the tour of the summer 2 b shown on their network, and being that there isn't, I guess they didn't. PLUS, when they broadcast a concert, it's live on the night they first show it and Prince is done touring 4 now. So either Prince is sending them a wrap-up documentary of sorts 2 b aired later this year, or he will be booking more dates at some point and showing the concert live then.

I had heard that a stiuplation of the deal was that he reunite with the Revolution and he wasn't cool with being dictated to like that. We shall see...let's keep our fingers eyes and toes crossed. Could still happen....
