The 12-inch version seals the deal!

These are two of his finest pop songs alongside "When Doves Cry" and "Little Red Corvette" if you ask me. I'd go for "She's Always In My Hair" - perhaps my favourite of his, alltime.

She's Always in my hair is the best and the cover by D'angelo is even better.

Even better????? What the fuck have you been smokin'??? Better than the original you mean or his cover is even better than Prince's 17 Days? Either one is ludicrous!!!!! Soulchild82 MUST be banished!!!! smile

Now, to add my vote. Sorry y'all, but it's GOTTA be 17 Days. I absolutely adore the full version of SAIMH (his 3rd best B-side ever, behind Erotic City), but there's just something about the melody & funk of 17 Days that had me absolutely fucking hooked since day ONE and still isn't even close to letting go. When people ask me for my fav Prince song, this is ALWAYS the answer I give 'em.

I love both songs tremendously

But 17days is one of my top three Prince songs period and gets my vote here.

That's a hard choice but my vote goes to "17 Days". I just wish there was a long version of it.

OOOh! Very hard this one! I still remember discovering them on the flip side and being rooted to the spot. 17 Days has that lovely reggae style underpinning that I have never heard him repeat, and yes I have heard Blue Light. It also has a great down to earth love lyric which again isn't something u can accuse the man of milking. W&L on backing vocals are also a pleasure.

SAIMH on the other hand is such a cool, trippy, rocky number and there is that harmonised 'aaaahhhh' bit that still gives me the horn on so many levels. The yelling on the 12" is also a joy. In fact I love the whole song vocally - u get the sexy deep voice with a few hight pitched oohs, the harmonies and the screaming.

As it is his voice primarily that I have never got enough off I'll have to go with She's Always In My Hair. Does anyone know who they are about?

Very tough choice but I will have to go with She's Always In My Hair because his vocal phrasing/staggering, the synth line and Prince's jaw dropping guitar solo are unbelievable.

I like 17 days live version not the album version. She's Always In My Hair also like the live version that was preform on Rave In2 The Year 2000. I guess since it's for the album version I'll choose She's Always In My Hair.
