Yes, we all know alot of Prince songs sound very simular, and i don't like vs contests but I couldn't resist with this one:-


"1999" vs "Baby i'm a star" vs "Partyman"


In order of fav first:-

1) "Partyman"- love the synths and the line"I rock the party, i rock the house....."

2) "1999"- more serious and of course slower then "partyman" but uplifting all the same thanx to the wall of synths that i love! Near the end is the best bit! I also love that the lines r past around to other memebers of the group

3) "Baby I'm a star"- Least fav.....to me, i still reckon this song is better suited to morris day and the time.....the lyrics is typical Morris talk.....anyone got any info that it was written 4 the time? Sounds like it was! That is the main reason y i prefer the other 2.....

Partyman hands down, especially the video mix and purple party mix. That song is so darn funky!!

(and boy do I wish right now my partyman CD wasn't 6000 kilometres away!!!)

1999 I have not liked this song 4 a while its just been played 2 death
Baby i'm a star I could not stand this song when first heard it but with time ive grown 2 love it
Partyman Got 2 be the best loved Partyman since the day when I first heard it love the video 2

Baby I'm a star Live... btu that's about it. I am not really a fan of any of these in their studio form.

Weird. I'll have to go with "Partyman" now that I think about it. That's just one of his most underrated works ever. I think it was one of the first Prince songs that I personally fell in love with too now that I think about it.
