ADORE, hands down. one of the best love songs I've ever heard..."if God one day struck me blind, your beauty I'd still see.." straight up that is an absolutely incredible line...if someone spit that game to me, i'd absolutely fall.

SAVIOR.

"we're like two petals from the same flower, baby
we're like two branches from the same tree
whenever i look into your eyes, i see a paradise
you're my savior, you're all i ever need."

JFK, Jr got married to "Forever In My Life." I really respected him after I heard that. Imagine the balls of a Kennedy to pick a Prince song and his wife was OK with it!

Hands down, Adore would be my first choice... just would hope that folks wouldn't be paying too much attention to the part in the lyrics where he sings "I ain't f***ing just for kicks."

I've been married twice and used two Prince songs in my first wedding:

Forever in my Life (walking back down the isle)

Sometimes it Snows in April (for a friend that passed
away who was supposed to be maid of honor.

I didn't play any in the second one. Maybe the next one I'll do a whole Prince theme.

P.S. Hi Ya'll !!
LOTS OF LUV 2 U ALL !!!

We didn't impose our musical tastes at our wedding...especially since noone really likes Prince !
This is something we SHARE together, we prefered to be discreet...we "just" engraved "FOREVER IN MY LIFE" inside our rings !

Prince played that song live at JFK Jr's wedding. He said so in the Oprah interview in the segment where she's in his studio and he sits at the piano playing around. He breaks in2 a portion of "Forever In My Life" and says 'U know, I played this at JKF Jr's wedding".

But since Prince probably won't come and play at MY wedding I guess we'd have 2 make do with a 7 cd compilation of all his greatest sex&love songs.

Though, we might not have a single guest left after a few hours of that....

Funny wedding music story - A friend of a friend (it's true!) wanted the happy sounding anthem from the end of Star Wars played when she walked down the aisle. But they got the CD track wrong and she walked down to Darth Vaders theme ! "Daaa Daaa Daaa Da Da Da, Da Da Da"!!

Friend, Lover, Sister, Mother, Wife!!!!!

By the way Prince did not play live at JFK Jr's birthday ceremony, he mentioned on Oprah that it was played. Get your facts straight!!!!

My wedding song was Adore. But beware, at about the 5 minute mark I started to realize that the song is damn near 7 minutes long. After a while we felt a little awkward in front of everyone dancing for so long. LOL

A friend got married last November, (the day before Thanksgivng) in a lovely evening ceremony. It was in an old church with stone floors and the pianist played Purple Rain while the guests filed in and waited for the service to begin. It was magical. He played so softly it was a mere tinkling in the backgound, but it was so powerful. I cried. It never would have occurred to me that that song would have work so beautifully, but it did.
