A. I hope Prince does perform on the Grammys. And actually wins one.

B. I hope, like on his Hong Kong Rocks performance he doesn't wear dark make-up and we can see his true color.

C. I hope the rumors of Michael Jackson showing up at the Grammys are true, so the world can see who the REAL white black man is (Prince) and MJ's obsession with Prince will be as clear as the bleached skin on MJ's face.

D. I know it doesn't get any better than this. Life is sweet.

E. nod

This seems possible since I heard from a source that Outkast will induct Prince into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Monday, March 15, 2004. Prince is all about the funk and this is his COMEBACK year.

Now, we want the funk! Gotta have the funk!

From this one line, you're gathering that Prince will perform? confuse

The Grammy organizers just announced an updated list of performers this morning, and there was no mention of Prince.

Everyone...read this post again. I have visited the grammy site as well...as much as I'd love it to happen, there's no mention of Prince.

It's a huge jump from, "eye say that eye will definitely b watching the show this year and will tell my friends 2 do likewise." to the headline of "Seems prince ewill appear on 46th Annual GRAMMY Awards".

I can't believe this is in the News section. All time low.

Ben should really write RUMOR OR MY DESPERATE PRAYER in front of this thread.

And I can just see all the people cursing Prince's name because they thought Prince backed out of the Grammy's. When in reality, his presence was merely rumor.

If Prince performs, he will be great and no one will care but us. It isn't 1985 any longer...wake up.

If he performs, I hope he doesn´t play Take me with u/Raspberry Beret smile
It would be great if he played a kick ass performance with a great guitar solo.

Question: If you could see Prince perform with someone from "today's world" of music, who would it be? I'd love to see Outcast or Pink myself. Both would be badass.

- Hmm...it would be real interesting to see him performing with Tom Morello (former Rage Against the Machine, now with Audioslave). A real great musician.
Beck would be cool too. Because, although Prince is one of his heroes, he doesn´t borrow too much from him (unlike D´angelo, for example).
Too bad there aren´t many good names out there to choose from.

this is true. I saw his name mentioned on a grammy commercial during the Super Bowl, and I couldn't believe it. It went something like this.

The GRAMMY'S featuring performances by Janet Jackson, Beyonce, Outkast, a special reunion of Earth Wind and Fire, music legend Prince, plus many more.

And there was a very new shot of Prince performing live. I couldn't believe it.

Anyways, I'll definitely be recording the grammies now, and fast-forwarding to his performance.

Is this a confirmed report that he will appear...or is it just KingofNYC's interpretation of PaislePark6's comment?

I saw TV promos aired during the Super Bowl and they listed/showed Prince as one of the performers

very nice to see that he's going to perform at the Grammys. Let's just hope we're not taken for a stroll down memory lane. Aside from people like us, most don't think he's put out any music since TMBGITW, and have rendered him basically irrelevant to modern music. Of course there are many who sell lots of records and gain lots of exposure by doing now what Prince did 15 years ago (Lenny, D'Angelo, Maxwell, etc.). My hope is that he plays something new for the non-prince.org public. Maybe it'll be "Supercute". Maybe it'll be "Sex me, Sex me Not". Whatever it is, it needs to be funky as hell, and quite frankly I don't want to see him perform with anyone else.

The Grammy's r usually shown on Uk TV, try Living, and E4 and usually they eventually show em on C4 tho its often at about 2.00am. I really hope P-shows up and lives up to his name, its about time he shows the Beyonce's and Justin Timberlakes of this crappy generation, what a rrreal show is. + he can put JT's lame dress sense to shame.

The Grammy's unfortunately are never shown in England live.
It is always broadcast a day later on BBC one heavily edited.

So don't expect 2 see all of these great artists perfoming funk classics, and that includes Prince.
