Prince surprises partygoers at Golden Globes

{{{Prince surprises partygoers at Golden Globes
Associated Press
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - The Hilton sisters got upstaged at one of the Golden Globes after parties.

Enigmatic Prince popped up as a surprise guest around midnight at In Style magazine's party. He played guitar on "Brickhouse" and his signature hit "Kiss," but left the singing to the band.

After two songs, he blew a quick kiss to the crowd and hopped off stage.}}}

Nick Lachey stood on a pink-cushioned bench near the back of the room to get a look as his wife Jessica Simpson hurried down front. Alicia Silverstone, Kevin Costner, Jim Belushi, singer Lance Bass and Clint Eastwood were among those who attended the bash.

Paris and Nicky Hilton attracted gawkers while making the rounds of several parties at the Beverly Hilton after Sunday's awards show. The hotel was once owned by Barron Hilton, the women's grandfather.

'In Style'/Warner Bros.

Sarah Ferguson, former Duchess of York, wasn't the only royal at the Golden Globes. Rock legend Prince, dressed in a bright turquoise suit that showed off his dark chest curls, slipped into the InStyle magazine/Warner Bros. Palm Court party just before midnight to wow the remaining celebs with a guitar rendition of his '80s hit Kiss.

Asked what he has been working on, the extremely private man of few words whispered, "There will be a press release soon" before his bodyguard whisked him away.

Warner Music Group, the music division of Time Warner Inc., is being acquired for $2.6 billion by a group of private equity investors led by Seagram heir Edgar Bronfman, Jr. The deal should be finalized at the end of the month.

Insiders have said the top priority for Bronfman is working out a new deal with Madonna's record label, "Maverick"and re-signing legendary music artist Prince.

BTW Prince is in Los Angeles to perform at the annual Clive Davis, Pre-Grammy Party.

(Rumors are he may be doing a warm-up show at BB King's @Universal City Walk, or Platinum Live, in Studio City.)

George Michael is supposed to have signed back with Sony so who knows.

A press conference? Let's hope it's not to change his name again!

It's time for a new album!

Serena

Here's another mention from the FoxNews site:

http://www.foxnews.com/st...63,00.html

"No, you couldn't get away from Paris Hilton on Sunday night, no matter how much you tried. She was everywhere, making a scene and the scene with boyfriend Nick Carter (remember the Backstreet Boys?), her newly brunette sister Nikki, and her parents Rick and Kathy.

The Hiltons were almost as omnipresent as couple of the minute Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, who are about to become a Trivial Pursuit card of their very own.

The couple met shrieks as they headed into the glamorous shindig thrown by InStyle magazine, which featured a real singing star — Prince — as the surprise entertainment. The Purple One serenaded nominee Scarlett Johansson, among others, at what to have been the best looking party on the premises and the one with best food."

mmm

The music division of Warner Bros (Record Company & Publishing) is being sold by it's parent company Time.

Therefore it's not going to change the way WB is, does or continues... (apart from the inevitable redundancies / recuction in operating costs)...

Warner Bros is still a valid 'option' if you were to sign to a major record company.

ADD to this that all the management @ WB is different to the team that Prince was 'enslaved' to...

he's probably see more familiar / inpleasant faces joining EMI / Universal. These executives have all moved elsewhere.

anything is possible.

Sounds to me like the new regime at WB may be trying to undo some of the fuck-ups of the past few years. They seem to realise how important Maddy and P were to them in the past, and that it might ne a wise idea to get behind their "comebacks". Of course, with Prince its a crapshoot as to whether or not they'd actually manage to land him, but it still would be cool. Not holding my breath though.

the first is in the post with the mani pics. And if you think about it it all makes sense. He wants to stop the boot sites because he is reworking some of his older unreleased material like Extraloveable for his new album. You'll see after the grammies who is the fool and who is the tool--hey that rhymed!
Peace.

TRON

Now all I need is information regarding a rerelease of his entire back catelogue with proper remastering and I can declare 2004 the best year ever.
