All this nonsense about Timberlake having to use producers and Prince not needing to ... Do you guys listen to anything besides Prince?? Ok, he rules, but just because other lowly mortals use producers doesn't make them irrelevant - Aretha, Elvis, Nirvana, and practically everybody else use producers - so give the guy a break! Ok, he is pop - so is a lot of Prince's stuff - I enjoy pop for what it is, and yeah, I wouldn't mind an interlude with J in an elevator either - and you can put on whatever music you want - he'd be dancing to my tune.

EverlastingNow said:[quote]I've got nothin but respect for Justin. Who else is talking about Prince? Justin is all over the place right now including the cover of Rolling Stone and Vibe. So he's giving props to the man that we all gather here daily for and we're gonna diss him for that? You guys sound like a bunch of little High School bitches with your comments. Justin's album was one of the better albums I heard last year, in fact it's the album I've been waiting for MJ to make since Off the Wall. He may be pop and considered a no talent to many, but he's doing what he loves everyday, are any of you haters doing that? I think not. And I will say that I'm a fan of Justin and I was very put off by the MJ influence in the first peformance and video, but he MORE than made up for that mis-step with Cry Me a River. With that said, I'm going back to listening to Xpectaion and then Justified again.

VERY WELL PUT worship
100% agreed. . . .he is doing what he loves, making the music he loves,i think alotta negativity that comes from peopel 2ward him is jealousy, because they b doing a job they hate, yet he has been doing what he has wanted 2 do his whole life,he is happy,& i respect the man & love his music.
the Mj comparisions r just plain silly & immature i think.

Ever since I saw Ben Stiller taking the piss out of boy bands I find extremely difficult to watch people like Justin Timberlake.

So many 'pop' people think they can borrow respect by mentioning prince. Nice to see him mentioning Princes introspective lyrics though.

I coulnt agree more. It is a shame how pop music has convinced itself that itis still as relevant as it once was. Why would anyone care what Timberlake had to say about Prince or anything regarding real music?

why would anyone care what you have to say about Prince or anything regarding... well, anything that comes out of YOUR mouth?

oops. they don't redface

Q:Theres a lot of suggestive lyrics in your songs
A:"Move your big ass round this way so I can work on that zipper baby",genius!

Of all the lyrics he could have picked to explain "genius"...rolleyes

What is with all of this Justin bashing??? I'm no expert, but I think I have good taste in music and I happen to think that he's a very talented musician. YES, Musician! Who says that he shouldn't be considered a musician because he doesn't play an instrument. The last time I checked the definition of Musician didn't exclude singers.

\Mu*si"cian\, n. [F. musicien.] One skilled in the art or science of music; esp., a skilled singer, or performer on a musical instrument.

No, Justin did not produce this album, but he did do the vocal arrangement on every track and took creative control of the overall product. That is a lot more than I can say for many of the Pop acts out there. Some of you need to listen to his album without prejudice and quit being so overly critical.

i think he sounds very princey on one of the trax, the start of the one with bubba sparx, cant remember the name of it rite now but goes somethin like

"pretty baby with the sundress on
lookin so damn rite you're wrong
make me wanna write my own little song for you

way that thing just wiggle in the air
turn around and then you flip your hair
i could think of a couple positions for you"

yeah i'm a fan

what ?

I agree. I just got the album and I have to say there are some really good songs on there. Some REALLY naff one's 2 and it sounds very heavily produced BUT - he can sing and it's a good album. That song is called Right for me and has Prince written all over it! I love it though! It reminds me of the racy Prince in the old days! I think Michael Jackson listened to this album and rang up his producers screaming omfg 'that's how I wanted my last album to sound like!!' - especially rock your body!
