Strongest Hint Yet That Prince Is Coming To Australia VIP Preferred Seating, an affiliate of VISA, is a well known and respected ticketing agency in Australia. It gives its members access to purchase tickets to the hottest entertainment events, often days before they go on sale to general public. As of this week they have added Prince And The New Power Generation to the Waitlist section of the website. This is the section where unconfirmed events are listed, and you can put your details on the waitlist. If the event is confirmed, you will be notified by email of availability. Having been a member for a couple of years now, i can say that generally, 9 out of 10 events listed on this website are usually comfirmed, so the odds are good. Even more promising is word in the Sunday Herald Sun in Melbourne, that Princes entourage has booked the Metro Nightclub for a performance sometime in December, however no exact date was mentioned. It would make sense though, as it will be right after his Japan leg of the World Tour. I will keep you all updated as i find out more info.

Man, i posted this news a while ago. http://www.prince.org/msg...tid=24320.
It doesn't confirm anything. I hope i'm wrong, but it doesn't look good. If it's going ahead we should be hearing something this week. "I have a date with Lisa. Isn't that wonderful?"

The Metro have flatly denied any booking unfortunately. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Ok, your selfish! We need the club to send us a email first before we start believing that he's coming our way.

hey dfunk if u had checked the concerts news on this website u would have noticed that this news is a week old.
eye actually emailed visa and they told me that they heard (another) rumour that prince is coming next year. eye then rung them and asked where they heard this, the lady couldnt tell me exactly but she said they usually find out their info from either a prince website or the promoter. so the only hope we have now is 2 count on this new rumour of a tour next year, 4get about this rumour cause its just been draggin on 4 too long now and there is just no way prince is going 2 announce a tour 2 start in a few weeks, its unheard of. Peace and keep praying. If ure radio aint on the FUNK, then ure radio aint on!!!

there is just no way prince is going 2 announce a tour 2 start in a few weeks, its unheard of. What on earth are u talking about? Prince has made a habit of announcing gigs only weeks before they take place. Git with the program homie. Sheesh. Most of the shows for this tour have been confirmed only weeks before show day. So i beg to differ with your claims. And as far as im concerned, there is a hell of a buzz in several media outlets, so i would say somebody is talking.

yes i know its teh way P does things, but not the way Aussies do things, especially when there are few of us fans left.
No1 here knows that A: he is still making music & B: that he has changed his name back 2 Prince this country is full of ignorant people who knows fuck all about prince so they just laugh. Prince aint gonna sell out any place with only 2 weeks til the show, maybe 1 gig in Sydney& that'll b it. Its holidays & people wont aford 2 pay 2 c a guy in concert that, well his last song 2 chart here was TMBGITW when it went #1 in 1995. what does that tell ya??? ***************************************************************************************

If he does come out(and i saw the writeup in the paper on sunday), the metro will no way be big enough. So many ppl will miss out.
Regardless of what ppl know about his recent exploits, if he visits he will sell out shows. His last visit he sold out a 15,000 seat venue in 10 min. and the 2nd show in about 30min. In all he sold out 6 shows(and that was just Melbourne) I emailed the club in regards to the press writeup, and got the usual 'we have no info...', but heres hoping!! I get hard if the wind blows your cologne near me

1992...
how can aussie npgmc members justify membership when he hasn't toured here in so long? Positivity PPL call me rude...
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I still think there is a couple of weeks still until anything is announced. It's the NPGMC way. So dont worry if we havent heard anything yet. It all comes out in the wash in time...
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I emailed NPGMC about the rumours. I asked them if it's true that Prince id touring here in December and here's their reply
"High, We have no more info on any more tour dates at this time. When more date r confirmed, we will emale all the members and post them on the site." So there's the official word at the moment.

Lets get the record straight. Most Aussies know who Prince is. He was one of the "teriffic trio" of the eighties, alongside Michael Jackson and Madonna. While Madonna is still firing, and MJs career suffers a slow and painful death, Prince still has his chance. So whats the problem? The problem is simply a severe lack of promotion. Most people dont even know Prince is still in the business. Because they havent heard much about his latest efforts. I recently tried something out. I recently told ten of my friends about the new album The Rainbow Children. I asked them to have a listen and give me feedback. Eight out of those ten people then went out and bought a copy because they love it. This support my theory. TRC is a brilliant album, but sadly most people dont know it even exists. If Prince tours, his shows will sell, and it will generate interest in TRC, and will push a few copies into the hands of the masses.
P.S Rumour has it that the Metro is going to be used for an after party, meaning a much bigger venue will be used for the main show.
