Story on Jia Blackwell Toddler girl drowns in swimming pool
A 2-year-old girl drowned in a backyard swimming pool after she got outside and through a gate, police said Monday. Jia Blackwell died about 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Sutter Delta Hospital, after she fell into a pool at her house on Mokelumne Drive, a deputy coroner said. Police said the death was an accident. "We eliminated the possibility of any foul play," Sgt. Mike Schneider said.
