Ready for my "Prince" lesson

I am rather new, please forgive me for rehashing old news. I just need some catching up.

Anyone please tell me:

How did Larry Graham hook up with Prince, how long have they been working together and does he really have a lot of influence on his religious views, music etc. Come on tell the details, I find this association odd, unexpected and quite fascinating

How long has Candy Dulfer been in the band, how did she get in since she was already a recording artist herself and usually Prince picks unknowns and sort of "make" them.

Oh and I forgot one more thing...
Does Prince still ride a motorcycle? I know I am dating myself..... But in PR era he rode I think was a purple Honda gold wing. Just curious if that was a phase.

The Candy Dulfer association goes as far back as 1989 at least. She played on the long version of "Partyman" from the Batman soundtrack. I think she's even in the video.

Candy's band was supposed to open for Prince during one of his Lovesexy shows in '88. Someone (Prince or his managers) cancelled the act and she sent him a stern letter. He later invited her to play a solo during one of the Lovesexy shows. He was impressed and the rest they say is history. Read more about it from her website. She has only "been in the band" a couple of years, but their association goes back to '88.

Larry Graham was a childhood idol of Prince's and he took it upon himself to look him up. They got to talking, then jamming, then Larry was in the band.

That was my understanding anyway, I could be wrong, I wasn't there.

I've heard it stated that George Benson introduced Prince to his current religion, but I don't know how true that is. I do know that Larry's religious influence has become abundantly clear now that Prince has admitted to being a jw, and he went back to using his given name, since jw's put so much emphasis into names.

It was alot clearer as well, back during the New Power Soul days while doing interviews, Prince would let Larry do most of the talking for him. Prince would say something, give Larry that "look," then Larry would dominate the rest of the conversation. Prince would say something and Larry would emphasize it, like Prince was Larry's puppet, it was kinda funny.

Candi played for various artists but she was most noted for having played with Dave Stuart and Annie Lennox of The Eurythmics. Annie told her that she could learn a lot from Prince and encouraged her to play with him. [I remember this interview years ago when Annie was describing this conversation with Candi and how she influenced her decision to play with P instead.]

While on display at the 2000 & 2002 Celebrations, both the Purple and Black motorcycles still had their respective license plates. The Purple one had a 1984 sticker, and the Black one had a 1990 sticker. I asked the security guy watching the bikes if Prince still rode them and he said "no."

I never heard this before... not saying it's not true, but you'd be better off reading Candy's own words from her "bio" on her website: www.candydulfer.nl .
