Vanity's relationship w/ Prince

I think that there's a lot of people who misunderstand the relationship that Vanity and Prince had. The media made it seem as though Vanity was Prince's leading lady, when in fact, Prince didn't like the company of Vanity all that much.

When he first met her, she was at a club after being with Rick James at some award show, and people have said, that Vanity and Prince both stopped in their tracks when seeing eachother. They said it was like Prince saw himself, but in the opposite sex.

Perhaps this is why they didn't get along as well as people thought they did.

Prince found Vanity annoying because of her abrasiveness. She was out-spoken and she offended him regularly. He liked Vanity less and less after getting to know her-- but they continued to have sex, even while he was still in a relationship with her bandmate Susan Moonsie.

I, honestly, was really suprised at this. For some reason, I was under the impression that Vanity and Prince had this picture perfect relationship until he found out that she was spoking crack with Morris Day. Vanity was actually in a lot of turmoil, from what the book ("Possessed: The Rise & Fall of Prince" by Alex Hahn) said, about the way Prince treated her. He would go off and leave her in her hotel room, alone.

Seems like that was the case with a lot of women around Prince. He was screwing Jill Jones, Susan Moonsie and Vanity all at the same time. Wow. LOL.

Prince banged Jill Jones, Vanity and Susan all at the same time AND they knew it. Prince has always been my hero.

Let me tell you from experience, when Vanity spread her legs, its like looking into the gates of heaven. I was drawn to the light, it was warm and soft, I saw my life flash before my eyes, and I didnt want to leave. I cried like a baby when it was over and I had to return to earth.

I have to admit,I was kinda surprised to find out that Prince was messing around on Vanity during this period. When I saw the two of them on the cover of "Rolling Stone" in 1983,I was under the impression that she was his true love (at my school, there was even a rumor that they had secretly gotten married). And now, years later,we find out that he was sleeping with Susan Moonsie (whom I assumed was only seventeen back then...lol),Wendy's sister Susannah,Jill Jones and others. No wonder Vanity,in detailing the reasons for the break-up, told a journalist..."I needed one person to love me.Prince needed more".

The sad thing is we never got to see Vanity in "Purple Rain".She and Prince would have really heated up the screen together!

Read the article in Rolling Stone cause it said his close associates said HE Was In Love with Vanity..That he Wasn't seeing other girls at the time and that this was a First for Prince and that he moved her inside his home to live with him...

Prince's taste for the "exotic" seems to be something that is ingrained in his tastes. Most of his women have either been biracial or of different ethnicity than him. The only exception I can think of is Nona Gaye.

Finally someone who speaks the truth! I've known this for years. She was never just a girl to him. She has always been very special.

I don't think Mani looks anything like Vanity. She's a lot sweeter and more approachable.

Well, it shouldn't be a surprise that Prince was a player. You can do that when you have alot of money. I'm not saying it's right. We all know Nona Gaye, Mayte, and Carmen Electra shared the same man (Prince) for a while.
I don't know if they knew about one another, but at that time I would think Mayte was his main squeeze! If I was rich and famous I would pimp the guy lol s , until I met my Prince. It's all good, Prince loves Mani and that's that.
