Check out Paisley Park's posting regarding Prince & Janelle.

"Today we’re thinking about the special relationship that existed between Prince and @janellemonae and the many unforgettable moments they shared together — like that time Janelle had Prince wheeled on stage at the @mohegansun Arena in Uncasville, CT in a white dolly, perfecting the art of making a dramatic entrance.

Janelle Monae fans in the Twin Cities know that Prince attended every single show she performed in his hometown, starting with the smaller clubs and opening slots she played when her career was just getting started. The respect was clearly mutual; Prince would often mention Janelle as one of his favorite modern artists in interviews, and she invited him to collaborate on her song “Givin Em What They Love” for her 2013 album The Electric Lady.

Prince was so excited about the release of the album that he sent Janelle a singing telegram, complete with a reworked version of his song “Kiss” that he wrote in celebration of the record, and at his show with Janelle at the Mohegan Sun in December 2013, he declared that her video for the song “Q.U.E.E.N.” (with Erykah Badu) and her album The Electric Lady were the best releases of the year. "He stood for the weirdos. He stood for the unique and he stood for those who couldn’t stand up for ourselves,” Janelle would tell People Magazine, reflecting on her close friendship with Prince. “This is a time when we have to protect ourselves as human beings. Not black or white. As human beings.” In 2016, Janelle performed a four-song tribute to Prince at the @betawards and in the past year her star has continued to rise as she has transitioned into a Hollywood actor, playing major roles in the Oscar-winning movies Moonlight and Hidden Figures. Through it all, she has continued to reflect on the important role Prince played in her life and the effect his loss has had on her life. "Sitting In Minneapolis. All I can think about is how excited Our Purple Hero was 4this film. I know he would have rented out theaters 2day," she reflected in January of this year, as Hidden Figures was hitting theaters.
Today we celebrate the music and unforgettable moments Prince shared with #JanelleMonae"

That's Just the Way You Make Me Feel, sounds like a Prince song. The way she dresses also reminds me of Prince. She was also on a Purple lighted stage. I'm watching her on Iheart Wango Tango.

Sweet, funny and ironic. I think Prince would have begrudgedly loved it.

Is there a direct Vanity 6 sample in the new Janelle Monae song (Pharrell produced) “I Got The Juice”? Seems like it to my ears.
