TYKA NELSON to be Interviewed on BBC1's The One Show

Not sure if this should go in here or the associated artists' / people forum - but Tyka is set to be interviewed on tomorrow's The One Show (25/10/17) on BBC1 from 7-7.30pm.
.

I should think it's to discuss the exhibition at London's O2 Arena - but I can't help but hope that they probe a little deeper...

Hope it's a good one. More than a sentence or 2.

Hope so, her responses seem to raise more questions than answers I tend to find due to her unable to elaborate or explain things properly. Lack of information also means it leaves a lot of people guessing.

As long as there's an investigation still going on she's limited with what she can say.

Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end nod

After second thought since this is about the opening in London, I highly doubt it'll be an indepth interview, most likely all promotional which needs to be done too, I guess.

I'll endeavour to provide updates...The One Show isn't known for its investigative journalism so I expect it'll be frothy exhibition-related stuff - but we shall see!

*Edit - just realised I'm not home at the time it's being shown; I'll have to watch it on catch-up or get someone to record it for me. Sorry, guys!

I wish she´d be a bit more upfront about what exactly was going on with him.

This interview will trigger a lot of speculation again.

She's already given an interview on BBC radio and repeated her statement about Prince's phone call with additional details about a picture and song Prince asked Tyka to share with Andre Cymone, which she claims revealed he was dying.

See there's my problem SHE CLAIMS that. But she doesn't get clear! If she don't get clear she'd rather shut her mouth, I'm tired of her shit!

How much clearer do you want her to be? I do not need to know what he was dying from. She is saying she knew he was dying. She worked for him at the time so I am sure they had a follow up conversation and I doubt she would have been getting things ready for his funeral if she had not confirmed it with him.

Apparentlly she mentioned the details will be revealed in her upcoming book, so I imgaine that she's holding back most of the specifics for that.

She was also on the 'Lorraine' breakfast-time show this morning (26th), hosted by Christine Bleakley. Promoting the O2 exhibition obviously, but repeating the stuff about him telling her that he had completed his life's work etc, and went into the Native American intuition around death. Acknowledged that she'd had issues with drugs and alcohol, and that Prince had supported her emotionally and financially. I'd love to be able to accept what she says as an expression of genuine feeling and grief, but I always have the sinking sense that she's mainly seeing the dollar signs.

The piece did show a few of the costumes etc. at the exhibition, which seems to have been designed and presented with care and taste.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/princes-sister-tyka-nelson-says-11411709

Has snippet from the interview. I do not understand why people think she has to be up to something for money. She is going to inheirit money and will be receiving a portion of royalties until she leaves this earth. There is nothing for her to scheme and scam for.

It does take money to put out music and manage the estate and not everyone can afford to go to Minneapolis so I think the traveling exhibit is a great idea. If it generates money for the estate then great as I think some of you do not realize that Tyka has not actually received any disbursement at this time but probaly has had to take a loan from the estate so money has to be generated.

I have no problem with her or family members writing books or speaking about their relative. I would rather hear what they have to say them certain people he had no communication with for over 30 years who think he never changed from 20-30 years ago.

If he was ill and did not bother to even contact those people to tell them that would tell you a lot about how much he trusted them. Glad to hear he kept Tyka, Andre and Andre's sister in the loop. Those people were really his sibs and he trusted them to keep quiet.

He knew who he could trust so he could have some peace in his final years. I am glad he had peace without the tabloid media following him around counting down his final days.

confuse If Prince "knew" he was dying, years before the fact, then why did he not put his affairs in order? confuse

Because he was the executor of his Dad's estate and he saw how stupid the older sibs acted. His Dad did not have a will either so he knew what would happen. A court would step in and over see everything. I am also sure he saw what happened with JB's and Ray Charles wills which are just being ignored via constant contesting.

He had his deal with WB which is still in tact, he had his deal with Tidal and he had his masters and publishing in NPG LLC. He also had detailed plans for Paisely Park which appear to be working out well.

Not his fault an asshat attorney tried to fuck it all up.

Regardless of a WILL or not or orders anything can be contested. The Late singer Michael Hutchence at the time of his death had 30M stored and orders of what was to go where, the money was sucked up by family fights and contestments over what his "wishes" were. I said this long before that PRINCE did not care about a will and here she lays out why, for me I just felt he did not give a crap about what happened, give it away was his motto. His music and deals all still existed and were signed off on, things got chaotic when someone thought they could make new deals on top of the deals he made in 2013. And also as I said PRINCE knew he was dying and anybody whether they like Prince or not or even followed him can look at photos from 2010-2013,14 and then see him in 2016 and see the change, gaunt, unhealthy, and it had nothing to do with his FRO or big clothes, and yes I get he was getting older, but there is a difference in getting older and being unhealthy and no one wanted to hear this but he was sick and it was more than "pain" and addiction, he was taking that stuff for other reasons too i feel. Considering one is prescribed for cancer patients don't rule that out either.

Well I think I answered it and we also have no idea when or if things became terminal. It would have taken sometime for him to get a will in place for his estate but I know he did have contracts in place for his music two of those are still in place as of today and no will would have superceded those contracts and a will could have been contested.

I simply do not undersrtand why Tyka Nelson is going around saying that Prince knew he was dying, when he died of an accidental overdose of Fentanyl - can someone explain this to me?

Why can't she just be straight and actually say, my brother died of an accidental drug overdose because he was self-medicating because of this or that? If it was a serious illness then just say that.

So, unless she actually means, Prince was in a bad way three years ago, he was struggling to control his addiction, he was on a downward spiral, he knew that and it was only going to go one way, then again, please just say that.

Instead, to say all will be made clear in her forthcoming book, is, well, a bit shameful. I don't want to sound harsh, but to tease us with information when we know what killed Prince, seems strange to me.
