Hi Clovering wave I would like be to know where this quote came from. Hope all is well. 😇

Either that 1985 RS interview Prince Talks or the 1986 video interview where he is surrounded while in France filming. Im pretty sure its the 1985 one.

Larry is just another person who did nothing in his so called "best friends" ultimate time of need. And I know you are going to say "you don't know what he did" but I know he was not screaming to the heavens and the press that prince needed help ASAP, like all the rest, he left that sleeping beast in the dark and it killed his "best friend". I promise you my best friend is not dying alone in an elevator with their clothes on backwards (unless it was a heart attack while bumping). What I am saying is like all of princes other best friends Larry was not willing to rock the boat for fear of being kicked from the inner circle. The consequence as we all know is there is no more circle...and if he didn't know there was a problem, than you were not best friends, so quit saying it...

With all the heart Love heart Prince gave to us, there should have never been any lies or criticizm of his life directed toward him by anyone cry Larry's music was cool but no matter who it is, I dislike it when someone seems to set up someone to conform to their view of things. IDK it's just a feeling I've had for many years, that some BIG moves that Prince may have been heavily influenced by Larry and his camp. But we all have free will, it's just a shame when pure hearts are deceived or tricked to believe something for the gain of others in general twocents

.

The 1985 RS interview is a good one. Prince speaks from the heart.

Prince was a grown man. It's easy to say with the comfort of hindsight what you would have done when Prince was going through his health crisis but Larry clearly respected Prince's wish for privacy. Prince knew how to hide his ailments, so assuming Larry was clueless about Prince's decline in health is possible. Larry isn't the one selling tell-all books about Prince "out of love" less than a year after his passing and he wasn't the one diverting prescirption pills for Prince. Larry is a great musician, legendary innovator on his chosen instrument and the fact that there isn't more understanding of Larry's grief is beyond me.

No one is dismissing Larry's grief & mourning for his brother, Prince. What a lot of people have an issue with is how someone like Larry, who was so close to Prince not have seen any signs of drug dependency/abuse? I mean, when you spend a lot of time with someone, eventually you are going to see that something is not right with that person.

That's presuming that Larry and Prince were joined at the hip like siameses twins. Prince and Larry lead separate lives with their religious faith being the thing that binded them the most. We don't know how often Prince and Larry were around each other. Also, Prince more than likely was a functional addict-taking medicine throughout the day to numb his ailments to get as much as accomplished as possible. Larry could have detected no signs. As far as I'm concerned, Tyka should have been more proactive in convincing Prince to seek medical treatment, long term for his ailments-especially when she said on national tv, that she knew for 2 years that Prince's health was deteriorating.

I beg to differ. I have been around alcoholics and addicts and I can tell when someone whom I know extremely well is under the influence.

.

Maybe people tried to reach out to Prince, and he just pushed them away? Maybe Tyka tried but she knew better not to push her brother too far? We just don't know.

LG either preyed on Prince when he was weak or helped him..Still can't figure it out but IMHO Prince repaid him either way..A home, work on projects, getting LG out there when he was no longer in the spotlight.
Until the end of time

Because maybe what is being reported is not accurate for the times Larry was around.

I am one who does not believe Prince was an addict. His last performances were stellar. No drug addicted person could have done as Prince did -

I will never buy what is being sold about Prince via REELZ docs or supposed friends, family and exes/

Only voices we hear are the ones saying he was a drug addict.

Not really. A lot of people who knew Prince well said he never used drugs.
