Sheena Easton singing Sugar Walls & U Got the Look

Saturday evening, I went to a Sheena Easton (!) show at Suncoast Casino here in Las Vegas.

While she did not talk specifically about Prince or anyone else who passed in 2016, she did preface this part of the show with some comments about how 2016 was a rough year, and that she was grateful to still be alive and well and performing (paraphrasing here, not direct quotes).

That led into a performance of U Got the Look (duetting with Phillip Ingram), mixed with Sugar Walls and even a bit of Glamorous Life thrown in at the end!

I got some phone video which you can check out here. I accidentally stopped recording after about a minute so this ended up in two parts and I honestly don't know how to put them together. boxed

As you can see I also don't know how to embed YOutube videos! Sorry! lol

BTW, I'm glad I went to this show, it was really good! biggrin Her voice is great and she is an engaging performer, and was downright funny and self-effacing at times while talking to the audience.

And The Glamorous Life, too biggrin

It's awful though: she looks like a 70 year old granny on valium, I mean not physically -she's obviously still very attractive- but her clothes, hairtyle and body language, it's awful!

I mean seriously: Sugar Walls must be one of the most erotic songs ever, and it's super funky, and yet you could overdub a supermarket promo sale host soundtrack on the video and it'd fit eek sad

(I allow myself this comment because Sheena not being an associated artist proper, it's highly unlikely she checks the org for fans feedback).

I'm going to Vegas in March. Is her show going to be around for awhile?

Philip Ingram? The same guy who was in that R&B band Switch? Haven't seen or heard from him in years. This was a cool performance.I like that little comment that Sheena makes after she sings the "blood races to your private spot" line in "Sugar Walls" smile

No, she just played two nights. Beginning in March she will be in London for awhile, where she's appearing in the play "42nd Street"!! So it might be awhile before there are any more concerts!

Indeed, it's the same Phillip Ingram! James's brother cool

Yes, the comment in Sugar Walls was funny! lol She was humorous and engaging, talking frequently to the audience, sometimes to individuals, throughout the show. biggrin

Wowugotit

I love Sheena Easton but, yes, she needs to choose different clothes and hair-styles. She's a really good singer and will do well performing in 42nd Street in London's version of Broadway.

Sugar Walls reached number 9 on the billboard pop chart. A lot of female singers would have been 2 shy 2 sing those lyrics! I love how direct the song is & the percussion driving it is amazing.
