It seems like someone would have leaked it onto youtube after all these years. I don't know. I think there was something going on behind the scenes with her and the folks at Motown. I mean, there is absolutely no excuse for her two albums not to have been released on CD or digitally by now. They reissue so many obscure artists/titels but tirelessly continue to pass over her work.

My guess is that Motown decided to stop promoting this album when the first single "Pretty Mess" didn't do as well as expected. They had big hopes for this album, but it didn't really become a massive seller. When she recorded her next album,Skin On Skin,Motown took more control. They supervised the recording of it,and even chose some of the songs. However,it wasn't any more successful than the previous album.Looking back, they probably don't think much of these albums, which may explain why they haven't reissued 'em.

I've always wondered what happened to the video as well. She even had a director set to shoot a video for "Wild Animal" as well! I wonder what happened.

And then with Skin On Skin, it was doing really well, yet she only had one video for "Under The Influence" which was kinda a big deal for her on the charts. No one really cares for Animals, but I've always liked the songs, and Billboard always had nice things to say about it whenever they reviewed it.

But isn't it crazy how if the albums never lived up to the hype of what the label expected, Vanity was everywhere.

Yup, I too remembered her being everywhere. Back then I used to think that The Last Dragon was a blockbuster because it was HUGE within my community and it was everyone's favorite movie. It was only recently that I realized that it wasn't really a big success.
