Fired from what? She was shortchanged twice during Prince's Welcome 2 tours, they made things right since then

I agree. She's hurting. I also believe that she has good intentions.

However, I feel as if her long relationship w/P, in all it's incarnations, appears to be causing her to feel a bit helpless in how to best allow herself to be of service to P's memory without coming off as being thirsty for attention.

I think her grief is allowing her to wallow a bit in selfpity and a bit of entitlement in regards to her place in the new Purple continuum since 4/21.

I just hope she can take some time and distance to gain her bearings in this new reality because I believe she'll alienate herself from the very people who currently have the authority to keep her out of the very loop she seeks to be in, and that would be a shame.

Just saw on her twitter that she has asked for a retraction coz it's all lies.

.

I agree! Why would Sheila want to ever take advantage of Prince -- that's nonsense!! She only wants what is best and to preserve his legacy. People have to remember, she is hurting too!

Sheila is a step above the other exes though when it comes to the music business. A huge step. She has decades of experience and was Prince's longtime colleague and friend, arguments or differences and all. I have always thought she would be a good choice to assist with decisions now. Of course I don't know how she is to work with, or how any of these people are to work with, behind closed doors.

.

Amen, Sista!! Sheila E. and PRINCE are/were a class act!!

You mean the "queen of paisley park" can't have a say in how it's run? My heart bleeds. Sorry, don't buy the retraction tweet...sure tabloids have a way of twisting words but there's no smoke without fire. I'd be willing to bet she's bitter because she's breaching copyright issues and she's probably been informed of that by the Estate. I've really changed my mind about Sheila, she's not coming across well lately. neutral

I don't know why people believe everything they read. Not one of us knows Sheila or Prince's family closely. Who knows what they talk about amongst each other or how close they are all are! This is a fact though: Tyka was just at Sheila's tribute to Prince in October. Doesn't sound like they fell out to me.

I tuned her out with all this I was Prince's woman stuff; this is not the to jockey for position of who he loved best. This is about is legacy after his death not other stuff.

You nailed it. Vanity, Susannah, Mayte, Manuella, possibly Jill, Kim B., Susan and more are all ex's in some fashion, either fiance or wife. Sheila girl - you're another one in a long line. Take a number, and wait your turn. The fact that Sheila has "walked away" just means that she's finally figured out this ain't her business anymore. Never really was, in this scope of it all.

Sheila is really irritating me lately with her shit. I love ol' girl. Granted, she had a relationship w/ Prince that 99.9999% of the rest of us never had in any regard. But her overt riding of the ol' coattails is a bit much at this point. It was just a few years ago she made a flat out statement on her FB that she would never be working with Prince again...evar. And now she's on his dick more than she was when he was alive and kicking. Just stop already.

The people that should have always been in charge of Prince's music and Paisley Park is Tyka and the immediate family. PERIOD. She's part of the history, but so are hundreds of others, whether Morris, Jill, Jerome, Wendy, Andre, Dez, Boni, Parke, or whodafuqever. Again Sheila - get in your lane, and stay there.

She answers questions that are asked by media. Media wants to zero in on the fact she is an ex to get attention for themselves. She has experience in the music industry and wants to help the family however she can. I have never seen a live interview of her saying anything about the estate going to her. That's all media crap. She is hurting and that takes time. Since when do we believe everything we read?

The media takes things out of context all the time. The media will just pick out the parts that sound juicy and will generate money (clicks).

.

I do agree though, sometimes people just say that to retract from their original statement, but I don't think Sheila would really do that, imo.

I don't trust anything that comes from the Daily Fail. Period. I do put Sheila in a different category because she remained closed to P throughout the majority of his career. But this is why I perefer band members and associates who didn't have a romantic/sexual relationship with him. No drama, no gossip, no bitchiness and no rivalry.

agree, this is his family business - leave it to his family to figure out. Girlfriends, ex-wives, "muses", lovers, hit & runs and "fiancees" and the like have no business in the estate. If he would've wanted them involved he would've included them in a will, set up a trust or married of late.

Right?

I like Sheila, always have, but I don't like seeing undignified and unecessary clawing & scratching among "previous females" whatever thier relationships.

Stop trying to jockey for position. You had a covetted place in his life. You have nothing to prove.

Sheesh

all the more reason if he didn't want his family to inherit or run his estate, that he should've had a will, trust or something legal drawn up for whoever he wanted to handle his affairs...i.e. music.

I was in a similar situation and let me tell you...thank God for the right of succession laws because then anybody could file and waste the estate's money, let alone the court's money/time, for frivilous "he told me" "we were engaged" "we were living together AS man and wife"...etc foolishness.

Need me some fuzzy love....and yes, I wear clear heels

-- Dez Dickerson said that CNN put a comment on their website he did not make and CNN took it off their site. If he was recorded why take it off? Not all interviews are recorded as some are conducted over the phone. Even when they are recorded there can be a problem as one of Prince's interview was put on vinyl and sold by the journalist who conducted the interview.

Reading some of your post makes me feel better about my position on Sheile E. While I appreciate her Prince luv, I need her to stop telling the world she was engaged to Prince, grieve like the rest of us and go back to being the kick ass drummer rock star she is. This fiance thing makes her look thirsty. She is way to talented to be thirsty. IMO

I've never seen Sheila bring it up during an interview. I've heard her answer the question asked of her. I have heard her say - that was a long time ago and also everyone already knew that as well as explain brief details. When she talks on FB she has never said anything other than it's hard and she has good and bad days. Pretty normal to me. People on here just love to be negative.

Prince was running around with Sheila E much longer than Susan and everyone on this board thinks she is the best thing since slice cheess. eek
