Saw Sheila E show in Atlanta

I saw Sheila perform at Center Stage in the ATL last night. It was a good show and I was surprised how much of a Prince tribute show it was. She started with When Doves Cry, Housequake, Erotic City and Let's Work and also performed Raspberry Beret, Diamonds and Pearls, Alphabet St, Get on the Boat, America, U Got the Look, and probably some others that I forgot. She did A Love Bizarre, Holly Rock, Belle of St Mark, and Alphabet Street from her own albums and I think that's it (and yes I know that Holly Rock is not on her album).

.

It was interesting that they started playing the opening chords to Purple Rain and then Sheila came out into the audience and did a song that I guess they wrote around the PR chords. It was a different song but then it ended with the guitar solo, etc of PR. It was kind of interesting the way they did it.

.

I really didn't know what to expect from the show or if I should even go because I hate driving all the way downtown, but it was worth it and a very positive vibe at the show. She was selling some merchandise of the Prince symbol and such on Tshirts which surprised me too, but not a bad way. Anyhow if you are a Prince fan, you will probably enjoy the show, although I guess I didn't have to tell the hardcore fans that anyway. Peace..

The song is called Rockstar. It's on Sheila's album Icon. It came out in Nov. 2013.
